MBWorld Fanatic!
A quick way to send a destination to your car via the app, website (which doesn't seem to work anymore) or Google Maps (that's gone too) and it will populate on the navigation screen.

One of the neat features is that you can start the S-Class remotely with MB Connect me. This will be very useful in frigid cold weather.
It gets better for the 2019 MY owners (I have a 2018). I am assuming we are talking about the phone app Mercedes Me. On the 2018 MY, you get the regular Mercedes Me app, with location, send2car, remote start, remote lock/unlock and remote horn/lights. There are some other features that pretty much lets you know if the vehicle has ignition on during specified times, if it goes over a set speed, or if it goes beyond a set perimeter etc. So far so good.
Now if you have 2019 MY, you get to download a different app called "Mercedes Me Connect" ... In addition to the above, it lets you read the odometer, fuel level, remaining range, next service date, vehicle status (engine on/off, locked/unlocked, individual tire pressure, battery condition, brakepad states, brake fluid level and many other things. And on top, it also has n Apple Watch app (regular Mercedes Me does not, as far as I can tell). Sadly I cannot use this one, as it automatically directs me to the regular Mercedes Me app, but I am looking forward to hearing from you all as to what else it has...

Mercedes is going to have 3 telematics providers now...Tele-Aid, Mbrace and now, MB Connect ( I wonder who is running the back end for them now?). No brand or company is listed in the current Terms of Service.

I don't see what the big deal is here. Why does MB need to send a destination? One can simply use voice command to enter a destination. Yes, the send2Benz has more uses than just entering a destination, but I think we can do without it.There are multiple ways of communicating these days. Thanks for your help on this topic.
https://wego.here.com has replaced Google Maps since MB and the others own it now.
I think it is helpful when you have multiple destinations or planning a trip to a new city etc etc

[QUOTE=BeanTrader;7582228]This can be done with Mercedes Me as well. Not new for MB Connect. Just remember that the climate control will be set to what it was left off at last. You cannot change it over the phone or anything. And make sure the car is in a well ventilated area (as opposed to the electric vehicles, which can be indoors when you use this function).

For the 2014 and 2015 S Class, remote start was not available even if one had Mercedes Me. For my '14 S Class I used Mercedes Me (and Mbrace app prior to Mercedes Me) and remote start was not an option since the hardware in the car did not have that option. When I purchased my '16 S Class remote start was an option via the use of the app.

Sorry, I was not clear. I am pivoting on the 2018 I have, which can remote start with Mercedes Me, as opposed to needing Mercedes Connect. In 2018, I believe it is standard (95% sure).

[QUOTE=salamigs;7583570]I believe, it was available in 2017 once they began offering the 4G LTE option.

Send2Benz is based on the Google search engine. SO you can simply write "Stanford Hospital" and it will auto-populate the address without you needing to know it and send it to the car. Same with any contact you may have. You can write in "Joseph" and it will find in your contacts anyone named Joseph and send it to the car. SUPER helpful.

Btw I’m pretty jealous - and ticked off - that the 560 sedans have been released and the Cabs haven’t been yet!!

I agree, Kath. Send2Benz is awesome! I use it all the time on my S450. I like that you can send it to the car before you even get in and it loads up right away. So much easier than fumbling through the voice commands or rotary knob.

I admit that I'm pretty dense when it comes to some apps. Today at lunch time, I had Apple Car Play activated on the S450 and all I did was to tell Siri the name of a restaurant. Bingo! The restaurant I named immediately popped up with it's address and I just clicked on "GO". Isn't this about the same as Send2Benz? I'm just trying to learn what I'm missing here. With Send2Benz using Google search, you need to look up a point of interest on your smart phone and it automatically goes to the car's navigation map, right? Is this any easier than using Apple Car Play? Thanks in advance.
kath00, are you sure they are using Google data and not Here Maps?

I think this this is one of those situations where we each have a preference that works and none is necessarily a better or worse method....

I don’t usually use Apple Car Play because it requires my phone to be thethered to the car with the cable. What I like about Send2Benz is you don’t even have to be in the car yet to input the destination.

Has anyone here tinted their windows? I’ve always driven suv’s prior to my s class so I’ve grown accustomed to having the rear windows tinted. I feel like I’m in a fishbowl when I drive my s class now but the car is just so gorgeous I don’t want to ruin the look. I’m also concerned with the fact that Mercedes glass has a reflective finish from the factory so I’ve heard that when tinted they can sometimes look purple.

The dealer called and said that the S560 that I ordered in September is on a boat somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean. Once it arrives at the port of Baltimore I should have it within a few days. Can't wait, I sold my Porsche in October and I'm getting tired of driving my pickup truck everywhere.
