Garage door opener failing

Hello guys and gals,
I have a 2018 S560. I have to reprogram my homelink button for my garage door every week or 2. I have never had any issues with previous cars and have 2 cars controlling the garage door opener now. The garage door opener is Liftmaster with rolling code. Very frustrating. Any ideas? Dealer is clueless. Thanks.

That is very interesting!

I have an appointment for our fixing/replacing our garage door opener. It's a 2018 E63s but it's using the same updated opener. Since we bought the car 3 months ago I had the opener "forget" the door we used most commonly 3-4 times. Just stopped opening the door. The other two doors worked normally. This happened on two separate doors; the other MB's work fine.
Process was to erase and re-program all three door which only takes a minute or two. Our openers are late model Chamberlain openers with MyQ which happen to be the same product as Liftmaster.

Interesting Wolf. I use all 3 of my homelink buttons in all of my vehicles. One for my primary home, one for lighting control in the house and the 3rd for my 2nd home. The issue is with only the 3rd button, controlling the garage door on my 2nd home, which uses a less than 2 year old Liftmaster with rolling code and myQ. As I said before, it will fail to open this door after a few days or week. None of our other cars have this issue.

I have not started from scratch yet, erasing all the homelink buttons yet. You can erase each individual button, and reprogram each one, which is what I did. I think I will try what you did, erasing all and reprogramming. If I understand you, that did not work though? Thanks

Just to confirm, I just re-programmed all buttons because it's fast and I wanted to be sure it's not related to the programming somehow. If definitely lasts longer than a week but it's always the door I use for the car. It literally works perfect and then all over sudden stops working on the next button press. Even changed garage stalls to make sure it's not the particular opener.

In general, the new mirror/opener looks better and the opener has dramatically better range than before. Before your post I thought it might be just a faulty opener but it could also be a random bug with the Chamberlain/LiftMaster openers. I have experienced that occasionally even the handheld Chamberlain remotes loose the link to the door opener and need to be re-linked via the wall switch.

I just reprogrammed all buttons and will see what happens. I really don’t think that the issue is with the Liftmaster, since we have 3 other cars that have never had this issue. My 2015 S550, which I traded for the 560, never had this issue either.

Same here with the other MB's but am at this point looking for anything that's unusual. Could be a firmware issue on the new opener. Definitely not anything physical.

My fix was to replace the LED/fluorescent bulbs I installed on garage opener with standard incandescent. Works now from a distance and consistently, before I would have to be really close and press many times and many times unsuccessfully. Supposedly LED/fluorescent bulb emit a frequency that interferes with unit.

You maybe talking about an older opener. This is for 2018 models only. The range on the openers are outstanding for me. 400ft easy... All light is our garage are LED

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
Interesting. I have a 2015 S550 and a 2018 E63 AMG and no problems opening and closing my lift master garage doors. I have an old sears door opener up north and that seems fine too.

Me too, just got my 2018 2 weeks ago and the new garage opener works like a champ (I have a liftmaster, too).

Here's what it looks like in the garage. I don't even use the lights in the Liftmaster as they never worked right. I only use the garage ceiling lights on motion detectors.

This is a known problem and is why Genie has special LED bulbs that do not interfere with garage door openers. See http://www.geniecompany.com/garage-d...ight-bulb.aspx
