W222 rear pillows?
Hi - I have the warmth and comfort on my 2016 and the movable rear seats. I had my dealer throw in pillows for the back, they ordered from germany, A 222 970 00 81 9H93. thye have the 2 snaps at the top, and 1 snap at the bottom. I have not noticed a bottom snap on my headrest, and I couldn’t get the snaps to well, snap, on either side. Am I some kind of stupid, or might these be the wrong ones? (I can’t find different ones). I can upload photos of box, pillows or car . Searching the part number brought up stuff in I guess German, no help. i don’t want to force anything. i found a post on Benzworld where someone with a w221 bought these and sewed Velcro to make work. thanks. |
I am in the same boat. Got the two top snaps to snap but cannot figure out where the bottom one is supposed to snap to. Probably something obvious.
|
Thanks. How did you get the top two to snap, a lot of persuasion? |
They were tight but not too bad.

Mine has 2 snaps at the top rear of the headrest and one at the bottom center well back on the assembly. The only way to access the bottom snap is to motor the headrest to the fully forward position. This exposes the snap. I have the 2 seat plus center console rear seating package. |

I’ll check for third snap again...thanks! |

You gave me the fortitude to check, there is indeed a third snap under the protective cover on the bottom which restore my faith, which was quashed again. There is NO DOUBT these are the wrong snaps. I tried to capture a photo. I can send back, try to find/make an adapter, or use Velcro. I’ll try mb parts firs tot find correct cushions. Sigh. |
I have an S65 so most things are standard. The rear executive seating was an option, the video screens are then mandatory. Mine has the top level upgrade on the leather, it was a relatively inexpensive add for the S65. My pillows, including the one on the footrest were installed on delivery so I have never unsnapped them. Hard to believe MB uses 2 different sizes for the same product. It is possible the pillows on the two rear individual Executive seats I have are different than the pillows for the 3 seat rear seating package. |
I may try to source the correct snaps and drill out the ones on the pillows and replace. Just crazy to me. I think there are more expensive leather pillows versus these cloth pillows, no idea why different snap sizes. Hard to imagine why, and not clear which pillows for which. i’ll also check with parts department. these pillows were about $120 each, ought to fit... |

Took several weeks, $120- with 20% discount from dealer. Snaps were very stiff, but they fit. If they don't work, go back tot he dealer and have them replaced. You should not have to drill or add to them to get them to work. If Dealers are out of stock, ,Mercedes must custom make/order them for you.. |
Thanks, shortened story is I had the dealership in Oregon order the pillows for me, I believe they come with a new car (at least per sales brochure and internet reviews). I think that well is dry, so unless I can swap a model “a” for a model b, I think it will be snap swapping, adding Velcro per these forums, or selling and buying $30 aftermarket pillows. Car isn’t horrible without these either, so I may be fixating on nonsense. Was just hoping I could buy 6 $1 or so adapters and be done. |
You can replace those snaps with the correct ones for about 5 bucks in parts. pretty easy to do with a drill, hammer and a punch.

Thanks, I saw a video of a guy with a leather riding vest. I have no idea of the right size, I guess i'll try Michaels or joann's similar
|
Ill chk mine as there in the trunk, honestly thought they looked stupid so never installed them.
|
Thanks, I'd be interested to know which trim of leather you have and if the pillows have a box or model number on them

Can you confirm the part on your headrests look like mine? To me it looks like i need a different kind of snap. I’m thinking I would need a male on the headrest like the one on the tarp, I have the “pointy” type on my headrest... |

many thanks - was raining like crazy here - now the sun is out! i don't know if your exclusive will have different "bumps" on the back of your car headrests - i think i need the type shown in the tarp to work with the snaps on the pillows, so the easier solution (other than forgetting all this!) is to replace the snaps on the pillows which shouldn't be that tough - just requires the right snaps...

Attached are pictures of the snaps on the headrest of my 14. I have found the bottom snap is easier to attach when the headrest is all the way up and forward. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...76895155d.jpeghttps://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...c674395ba.jpeg |
Many thanks, your headrest has the snaps like the blue tarp I posted, on my headrest. My car is at dealer now, service advisor said to bring in the pillows. Not sure if they can be swapped. Many thanks! |
Did you ever get your cushions on? I purchased a pair for my car and its hard as hell to snap on
