Those With the S450, What Are Your Miles Per Gallon

I drive a lot of freeway but averaging 28 mpg usually at 75-80 mph.

If some mixed city driving more like 21-22 mpg.

Recent trip from SF to PS did one tank of gas. 500 miles.

Not to bad for a big heavy car.

PS: No noise intrusion.

Based on my on-board computer my trip mileage is running 32-33 mpg. I take a lot of short trips around town and see maybe 17-18 mpg.
I keep my freeway speeds between 70 and 75 mph. This is the most quiet car I have ever owned!

You going are playing music to my ears. I know that when you spend so much money on a car, MPG should not be a factor, but it is to me psychologically speaking. Also, I love taking long trips without having to stop for gas.
As an aside, do you guys know when the 2019 S450 will be available? If you read my post about "What Do I Do Now", then you know that the 2018 is not in the cards for me. I cannot find a 2018 which has the exact options and specs I want. Hopefully the 2019 also has some refinements on Distronic, etc.

I notice that in the NY area when they change the gas mixture for winter, on average MPG drops 1.5 to 2 MPG's as of March, it goes right back up again 1.5 to 2 MPG.

Do you have AMG package? Averaged about 28 mpg in our 2015 S550e going from Danville to Sacramento and back. Not terrible for such a big car and 20" wheels!

You must be neighbor of mine, I'm west side Danville.

Maybe I've seen you around town?

The MPG savings over the 8-cylinder S560 isn't that much because the S560 has cylinder deactivation to improve fuel economy. The 6-cylinder S450 does not have that.

Mercedes S Class... Miles Per Gallon queries. I love this!
I don't have a S450 but I get decent highway mileage when I drive it normally. Lately, I've decided to drive the car more in the sport mode and throw caution and cares to the wind and not worry about mileage. I make decent money so I figured - why do I care so much about MPG? It's kind of freeing not worrying about it.

I also decided recently after owning this and 2 other S63's in the past, to only use the super expensive 93 octane instead of cheaping out on 89 or g*d for bid, 87 in a pinch.

I hope it makes a difference to my baby and I hope she appreciates the effort on my part of sticking a crowbar in my wallet to pay for the good stuff.

Nice at least you have the option for 93, here in Kalifornia we are capped at 91.

S450-4matic MPG

I’m getting 18 mpg in the city and 23 on the highway.
The difference between the S450 and the S560 is anout 1 mpg in the city and 3 pn the highway but you’ll pay an extra $9-$10k gor tjose two extra cylinders.
It isn’t worth it to me, if ZI wanted a go fast mobile I would have bought an SL instead of an S, it’s a lucury sedan not a go-fast coupe.

Yes! Obviously, the S450 is the better value. I don't care about going from zero to 60 a second or so faster with the S560.
