I have a 3 year old toddler, was going to buy hardware off eBay to bypass the dvd in motion until I found bimmer guru on youtube as a couple fellow w222 owners posted videos and tutorials on how to upload and unlock to allow video in motion via Bimmer Guru's software upgrade. Paid $179 at 12:30am on Thursday, got an email from Alex at Bimmer Guru at 9:15am that software was being prepped, had the software by 10:35am, usb stick was reformatted and software was downloaded and installed into the vehicle by 11am and my daughter was watching Pinocchio by Noon while on our way to Ballet. I loaded the DVD player with 6 of her favorite disney movies and all work with my Burmester High End 3D Surround System and its incredible....

Alex sent a pdf of step by step and they also have two videos posted youtube on how to reformat usb stick and uploading to vehicle. Best and cheapest mod I have done so far!!!

(things you will need, usb stick no larger than 8GB, windows as a mac can not reformat your usb stick, your Vin # and $179, oh and a W222 of course.... ;p

Does it play only on the front screen or rear screens as well

I only have the front dvd, no rear entertainment. You can call alex at Bimmer Guru and ask.
