Thinking of buying CPO 2015 s550

Ive been looking for almost a year in my area(western Canada) for a well optioned s550 and hadn't had any luck until recently. I came across a pretty high option car has all the packages, but missing a few options like HUD but not a deal breaker. The car is 2015 with 24000km on it or 15,000miles I think roughly. Its factory warranty ends this August and CPO for 2 years beyond that. Should I consider upgrading the CPO to a full extended factory warranty instead to cover all the smaller stuff not covered under cpo. Does anyone know or what have you payed for additional 2-3 years of that warranty. Also being a low mileage under cpo it had new front tires but not rear replaced and the brakes have not been changed. How long do the break last roughly and how much is a new set?
Also it comes with the amg 19inch wheels but I really like the 20inch multi spoke amg wheel look better. Should I see if they can upgrade those for me, does anyone notice a difference if it rides a lot harder or just a bit harder. I wonder if they can add the wheels for a lower cost then me just buying it from parts department they can buy it at cost maybe and and a smaller price to the car?

Picked up a 2015 S550 with 17K miles in February and been very happy with the car so far. These cars utilize run flat tires with no spare so I would not go more than 19" on the wheels. Risk of blowouts and bent rims goes up along with loss of comfort when you get that big on the rims. I will probably do the ELW through MB for around 3200 to get me 3 more years of coverage when my warranty expires next month. I do brakes myself and they usually cost around 400 bucks for all the parts on all 4 wheels. That is with new rotors, pads and all hardware, I also do a flush at the same time. Brake lifespan depends on how you drive the car. At 21K mine still look fairly new but I may just do a pad slap and go to ceramic pads as the brake dust produced by the MB pads is obscene.

I have to second the idea that the 20 inch wheels are not the best idea for road worthiness. I am not sure the CPO warranty is the same in the states, but getting a two year extension for 3200 would be a good idea for the previous generation S class. However the W222 seems to be more reliable than the W221 except for the software updates.

1st doubtful the car has 2 years of cpo as most ive seen are 1 year added after factory expires, w option of adding 2 for around 4k.rides fine w 20" wheels, i swapped my 19" for 20" too. Most dealers will not swap out the wheels but will sell you a very expensive replacement set! chk ebay they come up as takeoffs all the time. Just be careful you dont pay for originals and get reps.

That is the most irresponsible advice I have heard on the forum along with cutting springs to make the car look “better”.

To the OP: Buy original rims or get a quality 3rd party manufacturer rims. There are plenty of offers here.

Never buy knock-offs!!! Don’t settle for replicas. There are plenty of cases where rims cracked during highway driving. Penny saved is worth thousands (at the best) lost.

I think what he meant was don't be fooled by rep wheels. Some of the reps look very close to factory MB rims. Lighten up francis.

I don’t get how would you pay for originals and get replicas? Where?? I only buy OEM parts at my MB Dealer.
Do some people buy S-Class and then try to save money by shopping shady deals on craigslist or what?

alot of copies are almost impossible to tell from originals. Im just saying be careful as to not get tricked! Yes buying from the dealer will def get you an original set. Believe it or not alot of people buy wheels outside of a mercedes dealer.

I winded up buying the car, also was able to get 0% financing for 48months from Mercedes finance. I left the rims as is because they would just charge me the same price as parts. Extended warranty was 5700 so I opted not to get that and I'll just stick with the standard free 2 year cpo.
