Changing Wheel Offset ??
Have the original S550 wheel alloys and want to change wheels. I believe the originals are 18x8 and 5 x 112 mm and a 41 offset. I have been told that the acceptable offset range is 33 to 43. However, the new wheels that I have wanted have offered only 32 and 45 offset designs...nothing in between. I also learned that by going to a smaller offset one gets a wider wheel stance, and vice versa. How does moving the stance (or wheel placement) further out or in, change the handling and driving characteristics of the car ???

should Improve it!, but you dont want them so far out as they can rub. Im running 35 offset all around and the wheels sit perfect!

As long as the offsets are the same it should be fine. I had 13MM spacers on my rear wheels of my last S550 and it caused tramlining because the offsets where different. Looked cool but I took them off because of the odd behavior.

New to me 2015 S550 4M , Question to anyone that can help, I have the factory 18x8 all around I want the 19s. I dont want 20s as I live in Philadelphia and the streets is crazy and I have 20s on my other car in which im selling because i been through 4 tires in the last 5 months with blowouts. Back on topic do 19x9.5s fit the s550 4M or do I go 19x8.5s secondly what offset to use with 19x9.5s if it fits. Looking for some direction as Im a rookie here. I want a smooth ride as Im told go with serinity plus's but some instruction is appreciated.
Lastly is it better to go with the 245/45/19 or 255/45/19 which has a better ride and are more stable.

Randy....can't answer your questions since I plan on staying with the 18" wheels and for the same reasons. However, finding 18" ones that clear the large brake calipers is almost impossible other than the mfg. ones or EU or UK models since just the lower offset will not guaranty clearing the brakes.
