Hi,

So I'm still looking for this all leather 2018 S63 OEM steering wheel if anyone has a line on one. My dynamica one is so slippery in my hands, not my cup of tea. The grip and feel just isn't there for me. My dealer in Bethesda said they can get it but it's $4642 plus tax so it's $4920 including tax. They'll give me 10% off so it ends up being $4456 instead. Part # 000-460-47-09-9E38

For $4456, I could go to Europe for a week and stay in luxury hotels or something better than just get a steering wheel so I'm still trying to find one for $2200 like the original price was up till June 1 when it more than doubled.

I checked out Dallas Customer Leather and they do a nice job of covering a steering wheel in leather but the dealer said it will void not only the warranty for the steering wheel but also the airbag. Forget it, I don't want that issue, and also, I really just want the OEM steering wheel.

Eventually, maybe the price could come back down to $2200? I checked out this new S65 convertible at the dealer the other day when my car was in the shop for a check engine light issue (they've had it for a week, I think they said it was a vacuum leak or something like that so they gave me a GLC300 mini SUV to drive, kind of cool). The S65 (pics below) had the all leather steering wheel and it feels perfect in my hands but I can't fathom paying $4456 for this at the moment. If I can't find one within 12 months, I guess I'd consider it but seriously, that's some serious bucks for this item.

why don't you order it from the many mercedes boutique shops in Europe. Heck one here by the name of Mercteil has endless amounts of original AMG parts.

So I got a call from my selling dealer today and they said they can do the steering wheel for $3200 instead of $4400. Hmmmm, still. Isn't that a crazy high price? They said the prices could go down at some point, they of course have no idea. I'm still chewing on it. I can afford it but do I want to afford this price, now? That's the question. I've found in life that if I'm not sure what to do, I do nothing. For now.

do you keep the old steering wheel? you can recoup some cost if you sell it.

This upgrade sounds very important to you... Your piece of mind and happiness is worth the price.

Yep, I could see it for a bit I guess. I wonder how much? It's attached to a 7000 mile car now, not much use.

As has been pointed out, this seems important to you. Personally I do not care for the feel of alcantara on a steering wheel either. But many would pay to have it. You have a very expensive car. No matter the miles you put on it, make sure the drive counts. Get the wheel.
