Samsung Galaxy Note8
Folks,
I made the switch last year from IOS to Android and I am having a tough time figuring out how to get my android device to connect to the car via USB and play a playlist via google play, amazon music...whatever. I currently have to use an old Iphone as an ipod in my S550 which means I need to use apple music on my Note 8. Has anybody figured out how to use google play, or another music service besides apple music with the S550? I understand that you can use bluetooth, but that won't allow me to browse playlists and I lose a lot of functionality.

I believe it’s not possible except if your car supports Android auto or if the music was downloaded to your phone as normal files e.g copied from the computer then you can use your phone as USB drive. Apps like Spotify and google play music won’t support it.
The case for the iPhone is different as Apple has its iPod protocol common everywhere.

Just use bluetooth audio. I have the same phone and thats what I do...works great! Your right, you cannot browse playlists, but you can advance or reverse songs with your central knob. I have created a playlist that has my favorites just for the car and I just let it play on.

Now, if you want to control or view your music on the screen your car must have android auto installed.

I finally got the Bluetooth audio to work. No interested in viewing music on the screen. Thanks.
