Laugh of the day...
Found this gem in a parking lot. I have a GL550 but I hope you all get a good laugh.
I'm a Police Officer, so naturally I had to run the license plate to make sure it wasn't stolen. Sure enough, the license plate came back to what I expected it would, a 2012 Hyundai. Enjoy.

people driving in these Genesis vehicles feel that they have the same luxury as an S class for way less money. Clearly the manufacturer wants to lure people in with their wannabe designs.

I will have to disagree. As someone who has spent a couple of days behind the wheel of a new Genesis G90 5.0 Ultimate, it is my opinion that the car is a direct and worthy competitor to the S Class. In fact, the car would be my second choice, right behind my new S560, surpassing BMW, Audi, Lexus, etc. I would have actually gone for the G90 this time around, if not for two things: The Genesis does not offer an optional suspension like MBC, nor does it offer massage seats. Both of these are very important to me. If and when Genesis can offer me the ride quality and seat comfort of my S560, despite my fondness of seeing that little 3-pointed star sitting on top of my hood, and enjoying the cachet it announces, I do believe I would make the switch to the G90, as I absolutely love so many other things about the car, not the least of which is the cavernous trunk, with a full size spare hidden beneath the trunk floor. As for quality, certainly time will tell, but I got the feeling while driving the G90, that the car was rock solid and built to a very high standard. Whereas I find myself very disappointed with the perceived quality when sitting in and driving a new E Class, or a Tesla Model S, I was fairly blown away when sitting in and driving the big Genesis. It’s easy to dismiss the Genesis as just another cheap Hyundai, but to me, the G90 is a player in the W222 leagues.

Shows a deep insecurity issues of the owner.
Buying a new Genesis shows sensibility and fiscal responsibility with lack of desire to impress others, the guy who owns the car above seems to be embarrassed by his choice and tries to fool others to think he has the real thing.

i tried out a few Genesis (Genisi?) when they first come out, and then a few years later, and consider the Equus. I liked the Equus and i think it was ALSO trying to compete with the LS. Whereas the LS had a nice leather foot rest, the Equus' seemed cheap and flimsy in comparison. Similarly, i felt the switches, etc. all felt like cutting corners. Like, "great car, but don't look too closely"
I haven't seen the newer Genesi - i read what Streamliner posted a while ago when he came right off the trial, and hearing him say it again says the Genesis is certainly worth checking out.
I feel great in my s550 - it makes me smile - but i wonder if I'd smile as much if i bought the car with the Genesis (or gasp, Hyundai) insignia versus my tristar.
just my .02 - and worth about half that.

You just ran some random plate? Because you wanted to make sure it wasn't stolen?? Why would you even think that?? Oh, because you're a cop LOL.

I work in St Louis. St. Louis is unfortunately the murder capital of the United States every year per capita. That includes violent crimes. Car jackings are through the roof. It would NOT be uncommon at all for a car to be stolen in a parking lot.

If you don’t steal or car jack cars, you have nothing to worry about police running your plates. Its what they do to keep the bad guys in check. One would love if the police check plates if one got their car stolen. IMHO.
