Looking for opinion of 2015 S550 4Matic
I am looking at buying a 2015 S 550 4Matic with 36,000 miles for $50,000. The in service date is November 2014, so no warranty remaining. I am looking for feedback on this model from those who owned one. I have a 2006 S 500 4Matic (70,000 miles) and it has been pretty reliable for me and looking to trade it in. Your opinions will be appreciated. Also, trade in value for my 2006 S 500 4Matic with 70k miles will be appreciated. No rust, in great condition and everything works except tire pressure sensors.

2015 is a great car and fairly well sorted for an s class. I own mine 1 year and so far has only had the brake booster replaced, trade value for an 06 is somewhere around 0-2500, id say its prb better off selling that private.

I have a 2015 4matic that I picked up about a year ago. Mine had 17K miles on it when I purchased and now has close to 29K. So far no problems to speak of, will probably do the front brakes in the next few months but other than that it has been flawless. Most of the components of this car have been around for a while so I predict that it will be a pretty reliable car. They do depreciate fast so you are wise to purchase used as long as the deal makes sense to you. Your S500 is probably not worth much, I would stick it on Craigslist for 4K and see what happens.

Hi.....I too own a 2015 S550 4matic and I love it......drives like a dream and is the most relaxing car I have ever owned, Have had it 8 months and everything works superbly ......have all the technology plus heated rear seats and heated steering wheel but no executive rear nor night vision. When I bought it I paid exactly $50K and it had 40k miles so I got an extended warranty ( 7 yr )thru M.B. for $3K.

Hi John.....you are in good shape in that you got the CPO ( you probably paid a little more for the car ) but otherwise you are set up for an extended warranty through Mercedes Benz......and you can purchase one from many sources other than your dealer. Your dealer will always be the most expensive, but getting one with M.B. gives you a zero deductible and M.B. service and technical expertise. Call Jeff at 502-896-4411 and ask for Ext 1246 or Cassandra at 414-543-3000 and Ext 115. Out of state M.B. contracts are still good throughout the U.S. and offers peace of mind.

I really appreciate your insight on this. The dealer where I am purchasing the car has quoted me $4695 to extend it 2 additional years for a total of three years. That seem pretty high to me and that’s why am reaching out to this group for help. I will reach out to the individuals you emailed me below and get quotes from them. It sounds like you’ve paid $3000 for the same thing, how recently was that? I would definitely pay that amount
Thanks, John

I will be shopping for CPO extended warranty tomorrow. It sounds like it should be a lot less than $4,700 dealer quoted.

sure, I pick it up tomorrow. It is designo Diamond White with Silk Beige/Espresso Brown Nappa leather. It has sport package w/ 20” wheels, driver assistance package, power/heated rear seats, heads up display, heated windshield, warmth & comfort package , etc. msrp was $121,700..I paid $58,000. They allowed $7,500 for my 2006 S500 that is in great condition with only 74k miles.

Also, do you have the 20” AMG wheels? I have them on the new car and am concerned they are not pothole friendly. If you have them have you had any issues?
Thx, John

Hi John, I paid 3650... not sure its the same guy though? That seemed like a fair nmbr to me. I do have the 20's dont be scared a 19 or a 20 will bend just as easily and look better on the huge car. 7500 was a great trade nmbr. Post up some pics of the car!. ps mine came w the 19" and I switched them to 20". 58 seems fair, you also have until the warty expires to extend it so you have plenty of time.
