Finally Stepping INTO The World OF S Class
Hey Guys, Just wanted to introduce myself. I've been a w222 fanatic for a while now, just got around to buying one. I owned bmw's before M5 M4 M3 M6 X5 You name it but I feel like they really need to update the interior which is keeping me away from buying a BMW. One of my favorite cars that I was really passionate about was my 2001 740i when I was in my early 20's, This vehicle had me sitting on the forums researching day in and day out about different things about my beloved 740i those were the days. I just recently bought a W222 2015 S550 Grey / Blk at auction a few days ago. As a first time S owner I am feeling that excitement set in of owning this car which I have not had in a while the s550 is a whole lot of car. I specifically wanted to get a higher mileage S550 so that I can put money into modifying it (which I've noticed does not go so well around here, I'm in my early 30's and live in Florida where every other car is a S550 with an elderly lady driving it.. I'm looking to make mine stand out from the crowd). I'm also glad that I can be a part of this portal of information on MBworld forums. Enough of the mushy bs. down to the real questions!
- I cannot for the life of me find anywhere on the internet on how to make the blind spot indicators work
- The vehicle has a distinctive light thud when driving over speed bumps (I'll be getting the vehicle to my mechanic this monday just wanted to see if anyone knew what this may be)
- The chrome trim is faded from the sun I was wondering if anyone had a solution for repair or replacement
- the vehicle has excellent service records, one owner and has always been serviced in MB - I've had some terrible experience with MB dealerships with my wifes C250 -> Is there anything I should make sure to check on this model with this mileage that MB may have overlooked? (as I mentioned earlier I will have my mechanic look on it he is an benz expert I figured maybe I could have him put some attention on to certain mechanical things once shes in the shop. )
- on the roof there is a plastic panel right between the windshield and sunroof, Its fading from the Florida sun, any solutions on repair or replacing this?
- Rear entertainment solution's? I would like to put some sort of system in the back head rest, I've seen a few photos of original MB screens I was thinking maybe someone had an alternative idea, such as an ipad or surface go?
- is it possible to override the display to connect a third party device and project a browser on the vehicles screen? I day trade and would like to project a browser, or run youtube videos on the screen
now for the mods, any ideas or suggestions are greatly welcomed.
- Matte Grey wrap
- Grill Replacement
- Tints all around
- benz emblem delete - options?
- potentially lowering the vehicle .5-1" (module or lowering links?)
- trunk lip
- black badges
- restore chrome
Interior
rear entertainment for the kids
and modding the navi to show stock charts lol
Also any meet up groups in South Florida?

Welcome,
The 7 Series you highly raved about has been my fave model of the Teuton Brand until they released G12 7 Series .It was the car that got me into BMWs as well .I had even picked up some brochures related to 7 Series too .
Congrats, W222s are remarkably better designed cars in today's perspective considering, body panel creases , nicer wheels, tech gadgets and the list should go all the way to the deepest spot to the universe
My suggestion would be to leave chrome as is and buy AMG exterior kit may be a worth replacing wheels with AMG ones if you like . This is what I would do if I owned this beauty Therei's a nice difference between non AMG S550 and AMG S550

I would spend my money on AMG bumper, trim, trunk lip wing and wheels. You can tint the windows but they may look funny because the S class already has a factory tint applied and tint makes the windows look purple. Lighter tint is best. I would not lower it as you are opening yourself up for very spendy airmatic repairs as the car suspension is not designed to be lowered. All of the other stuff you are contemplating will drastically reduce the value of your car so unless you plan to keep it until it dies I would not do the wrap or emblem deletes. Damaged chrome can be replaced with a new piece for not a lot of dough.

Yes, just rock it with very few mods and maybe some funky bumper stickers instead. I have a large Grateful Dead sticker on mine so I don't feel like an old f'er. I'd say, just do the AMG wheels and call it a day and save your money. Maybe rear DVD screens if you must. I really wanted them since they look hot but in retrospect, I'd NEVER ever use them. I'm single and my friends listen to music in my car and would never watch DVD's. Put that money in the bank (keep that money in the bank) for potential VERY EXPENSIVE repairs that will undoubtedly surprise you in their cost. The color is so hot already, you're good as is. Just my 2 cents though. I'm 57.

Keep your money for the repairs it will need. Thing has over 100 sensors alone!

you already have the optional 20" wheels, in my opinion a very nice looking wheel for the car. Maybe add the body color rear spoiler, mine has it and it really ads to the look of the car. post up some more pics.

You could also wrap the damaged chrome in black vinyl or get a color match for your car potentially...

Sport Package or AMG body kit makes the car look better IMO. Ebay may offer some reasonable options. Lowering the car via OBDII module is cheap and easy and there are MB iPad mounts that can be setup for rear entertainment.

So, Little update. Had the car wrapped, tinted and the roof wrapped black and blacked out the lights a bit. Here are not so pro photos of it after a dunkin run! I purchased a little lip on the trunk i'm still debating on if I should put it on. Also I had a question, anyone know what kind of material I need to apply the lip to the vinyl, double sided tape does not seem to stick too well. I will be looking for rims next any suggestions?
Thanks to all!
Thanks to all!

Looks great, I'm going to wrap mine after new years. Looking at satin black or brushed black. Do you mind telling how much it cost you? I ordered 21" hre ff04 that should be here soon too.

I not a fan of the matte look, plus I really dig the color of your car originally. Diamond white was my 1st choice w gray the 2nd.
