Eco stop start behaviour

New to me 2014 S500. Could someone explain how the eco start functions and what is ‘normal’ behaviour.
I am curious as to the triggers to auto restart.
i find that at times when stationary at the lights it goes off, but restarts after about 10 to 20 seconds. Cool weather, so ac is not in full swing and no other power draining accessories are on.
is eco an early warning system that something else may be going on and not all is well?

I also don't know what parameters does ECO use but even unfastening seat belt could make the car restart its engine .However, I'm a firm believer that car knows how efficiently to start / stop the engine when that durn ECO thing is on

There are many things the computer is looking at.... Battery voltage, engine temp, power draw etc. All normal. During cooler weather, it can take at least a half hour of driving before it will kick in. All is normal if you have no error lights/codes.

and on top of these, the Aux battery should be in good condition.
