Phone/Radar Mounts Resolved

Could not figure where to mount the phone and radar detector until now. Turned the V1 visor mount upside down and it fits perfectly. The phone is mounted to the drivers air vent so its out of the way.

That radar detector might not work well there. There is a "hole" in the windshield that's designed to let gigahertz frequencies though but you are pretty far back. You'll likely need to move it right up next to the windshield, center, low.. There is another "hole" to the passenger side of the cameras up high, right behind the sun visor. If you look at the windshield in just the right light from the outside you can see the places i'm talking about. I used a dry erase marker to mark them so I could see from the inside exactly where they were..

Also if you have distronic and don't have the very latest update on your V1 it will false constantly once you get the detector in the right spot.

Seems like the location for the radar detection is fine as it works normally, however why the hell did Mercedes design the ashtray to block the cup holders when pulled out. Very stupid.

If you're opening the ashtray to get 12v for your phone or radar switched to ignition (everything I found in the driver area fusebox is unswitched), there are compact cigarette-USB adapters and cables with small or right angle connectors you can use, where you hide the cable behind all the trim so it is invisible, and still close the ashtray. I did this in my car for a phone charger (magnetic Qi vent unit installed in same place as yours)... ran the wire under the dash in the driver area, into the fusebox, so only thing visible is a bit of wire between the phone charger and fusebox.
