Cell Phone Mount
Hey what is anyone using for mounting their cell phones inside the car. I have a mount that I was able to attach to the one of the vents but then the phone swings in the direction of whichever the car is turning, Any suggestions? Thanks.

I just picked up the Weathertech cup holder cell phone mount. Works great, is very simple and does not require any modification to your car. Downside is you lose a cup holder but it is easily removed when not in use or if you need the second cup holder.

I think I figured it out. The flexible rubber claws on the back of the mount fit perfect into the air vent. I just need to slide something very thin into where the vent outer edge rotates and keep it from twisting when I turn and I should be good to go. I want to install it on the 2nd vent from the driver's seat so the other vents will not be compromised for any passenger. Also, I prefer the holder to be within eye view instead of having to look downward towards the cup holder assembly. We have some snow outside today so I will have to wait until a nicer day to see what I can do. I'll keep you posted on my progress. Wish me luck!

I finally got it to work. I cut one of my business cards into little squares along with a thin piece of rubber and slid them into where the vent turns. I placed them at 12:00, 3:00, 6:00 and 9:00 o'clock positions to balance out the tightness. It works great and is very convenient to reaching and looking at the phone while driving.
Here's a few pictures. I just need to trim off some excess and i'm good to go. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus which fits perfect!!!

I used a similar product but it has the suction cup set-up and I attach it to the lower left side of the windshield (next to the A pillar) so it's easliy reached and does not move or vibrate.

When I was at CES, Scosche has a new phone holder coming out in Q3 which attaches to the vent, but can slide in either direction to keep the vent unobstructed.

I bought 2 of them from Amazon (1 for the S & 1 for my golf cart) & they were cheap & work great. They have adjustable suction cups that attach to the windshield--sorry but the photo does not really show that aspect.

I've got this on my E.

I'm in search for a lengthier cable so I can run it along with my Dashcam and tuck the wires behind the headliner and A-pillar liner, run it under the carpet to the 12v Cigarette lighter socket.

I had one of those that attached to my windshield in my other vehicle and I got tired of it. I felt it was also in the way of my vision and depending on the ambient temperature of the year it would detach from the windshield without notice and fall. Have fun!
