How much heat does the standard window glass reject?
 

I'm wondering how much solar energy is rejected by the standard double-layer sandwiched window glass on my W222 Mercedes. Does anyone have a figure? I was thinking of adding Huper Optik Ceramic tint to the sides and rear windshield on top and wondered how noticeable the heat rejection would be.

Before my S got tinted it would get pretty hot on the inside. I didn't spring for any of the ceramic tint options but my car is 35% front, 20% rear doors, and 15% rear glass. It keeps the car very cool during hot summer SoCal days. Also remember to keep all 5 of your shades closed for maximum heat protection (panoramic, side, and rear) ! :D

I can say not enough for Florida. I did 15% on all four side windows plus the rear window along with a light tint on the windshield and it made a huge difference. I didn't do the pano roof as of yet, because my daughter loves looking through it and it hasn't hit high 90's here yet as it will in August no doubt. My tint guy said I will be back in July /August! LOL So far the cover works fine.
