Burning smell
I have driven my new 2019 S560 4MATIC over 3k miles. A strong burning smell persists after I stop the car before turning off. I only smell this when outside vehicle. Anyone else experience this?

If it's a rubber/plastic burning smell, then open you hood and take a look at the two black plastic air vents running towards the front of the car. On my 2015, one of them became loose and came in contact with the hot exhaust. The same may be happening on yours.

I would think this is an appropriate question for someone to ask here especially if one does not want to overreact.
A better question to ask would be “what does it smell like”? This question would get at if one neeeds to take it to a dealer. I have a 2019 S63 and some people might think it has a burning smell to it after I push it abit but I know this is normal “new car smell” from all my previous new car experiences. My S63 has about 2500 miles on it. It seems to me all my new S class cars over the last 25 years have had a smell that one might think is a burning smell but actually is normal for newer cars based on my experience. Of course if the car smells like something is on fire then immediately take it to a dealer.
Plutoe, Do you work at a dealer or are you a mechanic?

1. Check for any Manifold leaks. The plastic underbody could be holding lots of fluids that would normally show up on the ground.
2. Check to make sure a plastic bag did not get caught on the hot exhaust.
3. Worst case could be a short....

Someone once told me it could be the antifreeze, especially if you're in a hot climate or it's a hot day.
This info came from an Audi owner and in the summers he would use water instead.
I haven't looked into his at all, just a conversation and your question made me remember what the Audi owner had said once.
Good Luck. My 2015 ML63 AMG 4MATIC always smells like something is burning,,,,,, Could be the tires, the oil, or the exhaust.
