500 miles left on warranty
EDIT: I made a big mistake thinking the warranty was 40K instead of 50K. I guess the mods can delete this thread as they see fit. Sorry about that.
--------------------------------
So I have 500 miles until the 40,000 mile warranty expires on an August 2015 purchase date.
Is there a method where they completely check to see if anything should be repaired? Do they have such a thing without me specifically pointing out repair items? I figured I'd ask you guys because the dealer would probably only say what's beneficial for them.
Also, I'm curious if Mercedes Benz sells extended warranties (not 3rd party) and if it's worth getting. In the past, I haven't kept a car for longer than the warranty period, so this is new territory for me.
Thanks for the feedback.

I just checked and you're right. 4 years / 50K. How did I not see this?
I FEEL SO STUPID!!!! I know I saw 40K somewhere.
Thank you so much. I feel so embarrassed.

Depends if you purchased the car new or through a dealer or wholesaler. I could not extend the factory MB warranty and decided to just self insure. One year in with no warranty and the car is still flawless. I tend to think the ELW on these cars is not really needed and is more of an insurance policy. Hope I am right but it saved me about 3500 by not going with an aftermarket warranty that would probably be a hassle to use if I did ever need it. YMMV.

If you take the car in for just an oil change you can elect for the multi point inspection. Explain to the service advisor to look for any known issues as your in warranty. I had a great service advisor who once sat in the car for a test drive and immediately noticed a slight vibration. I was there for a clunk...which was a sway bar bushing, and he also addressed two leaking motor mounts which caused that slight vibration, all under warranty.

Agreed! By the 3rd year it's either a good car or a bad one. I have bought new ones and used ones that turned out to be problematic. If so I get out when the warranty is up. I have had very good runs with the "good" cars. Yes, some things go wrong as with any car, but overall the warranty is a waste of money. I good independent German car shop is the only way to own out of warranty. The comparison of dealer prices for repairs will scare anyone into a warranty.
