4Matic S class
Hi everyone,
Is it true that you will have better handling with 4matic S560 compared to RWD? I live in California and not sure if it makes any difference to order S560 in 4matic?

I think in order to be able to feel the handling difference between 4 MATIC vs RWD you should be driving it in Laguna Seca .I have been driving various or cars ranging from FWD to 4 WD .On normal roads or straights there's no difference but 4 WD makes it easier to transfer the power to the wheels when you're launching it from stand still , and it's more apparent on slippery roads .However, I could still feel wheel spins on slippery roads even with 4 WD car

I too live in Southern California and Drive a 2017 RWD S550 with 20" run flats. Never had issues, even in the heaviest rains. If you plan on staying and driving mostly in Southern California don't waste your money on All wheel drive.

Handling will be better with the RWD as the suspension is far better than Airmatic. If MBC was selected as an option, that is.
Traction will be improved with 4WD but as stated, that will only come in handy in wet or snow conditions. Of course it will also aid in your 0-60 spurts
In CA I would pick RWD and spend the extra money on MBC.

Depends on how much rain you get. I have a 4matic and it stays planted regardless of conditions but I live in Seattle where we get a lot of rain and some snow. Works great in rain, I would not own a RWD car in my area.

In S California, I probably wouldn't care but definitely in areas that gets rain or if there will be trips to areas that has colder/snowier places, 4 matic no question will run circles around rwd when weather turns sketchy.
I love my 4matic. It makes driving in bad weather effortless.
We had unseasonably heavy snowy winter this year in the Seattle area, car did great with 4 season tires, hit the lift up button and car plowed right through deep snow.

What all seasons are you running and on what rims and do you like them? I’ve got the standard P0 RFT that came with it. Just picked up my 2019 S560 4Matic a couple of weeks ago and trying to figure out if I like them or should make a change. Would appreciate your thoughts, thx.
