Its sad if that's going to be the car - both interior and exterior. I've had the W140, W220, W221, and W222.

Switched to Porsche 911 and was looking forward to a W223 - but that's not in the cards if that looks like that - and I agree - the interior shouldn't look like a Tesla.

Easy problem to solve: Order a nice, new S560 right now! It is truly a fabulous car, way better than the S550, IMO.

Sad. I love technology but that screen is just to massive , and the exterior I don’t like. Curious if the AMG will be a lot more aggressive. I traded my 18 S63 in ( still miss it ) because I needed a truck ( wife’s lease not up yet ) and mainly I couldn’t take the wind noice coming through. Couldn’t solve the problem and it was very annoying. Now I’m in between the new gls and the new s.

In your experience, how is it better? About a month ago my salesman called me in to test drive a 19 560 and it felt quite similar to my 15 S550. I did not like the new door hinges, which in my opinion cheapen the feel of the car, and the smaller truck space. Already the w222 trunk space is less than the w221's and they further decreased it, which is disappointing. The 19 S560 did feel like it was more controlled over bumps and less cabin intrusion when you hit bumps, but maybe it was because that car had the 19' amg rims and not the 20' inch like I have. I concluded that it was not worth the upgrade.

Terrible renderings. Not even close to the actual prototypes we see being tested.

My 2018 S560 is equipped virtually identically to my 2015 S550. The new engine & 9-speed transmission are DAY AND NIGHT better, offering quicker, smoother, nearly seamless, turbine like propulsion. The Magic Body Control in the new car is nothing short of phenomenal, compared to the 2015 and the car feels so much lighter on its feet and it is “THE” best riding car I have ever driven or ridden in. The “Curve” feature in the MBC is truly amazing. The new car is better insulated, with much less engine noise entering the cabin. You are right about the trunk space, but I actually now prefer the new door stops.

Let's just hope this horrendous rendering doesn't come to fruition.

I believe that the car will look VERY much like the "rendering" of the white one, that looks like a photo.

That indeed would be a shame to be losing the classic looks of that model; especially with that Japanese looking back end....major styling fail IMO.

It's not. All you have to look is look at the car in the actual videos and actual spy pics, that is NOT the car. That white is not a photo it's **** poor rendering.

Be that as it may - what about the interior - that big tesla-esque tablet running the length of the center? Looked pretty set in stone to my eyes.

First impression, not a fan. Need to see it in person before any final judgement, but it looks like the are going in the wrong direction :/ Rear lights/rear looks like the new ES Lexus

Ah yes, I did realize the transmission was smoother at lower gear changes.

Oh yeah those are actual pics, nothing changing with that. Mercedes is going big screen for sure. I have faith that they will retain the Mercedes look and not spaz out and make it ugly and unappealing. The luxury craftsmanship of the current car will be retained with the screens.........I HOPE lol.

I have been following the model changes now for 30 plus years. Every generation change, before the car comes out, people hate it. This time will be no different. When it comes out, it is a different story.

Watch, the car will be nice. I don't think Mercedes will get this wrong.

I agree. Most likely, the new S will be fine. Unfortunately, over in SL land, things don’t look so rosy. It seems that MB is changing our beloved 2-seater with the retractable hardtop, into a 2+2 with a fabric top. Lots of unhappy folks over there. The new SL may be a wonderful car, but to lose that folding hardtop is just a shame.

If it has to look like a Kia on steroids, at least add fenders which distinguished the 221 so firmly.
