W223 Interior?

Hmm? Is this real?

Maybe:

The vent in the pics match the OPs pic

What a sad day.

Oh boy!!!
It looks awful to me

Utopia Texas 04-21-2019 11:22 AM

Great! I can play “Pong” with my front seat passenger on long road trips. Can’t wait for the auto blog pundits to claim this screen is the greatest innovation ever from MB and should be even larger. :)

places 04-21-2019 01:20 PM

Can't be. I mean can it? This would be a fail 100%. Those vents...ugh, and the tablet is floating. Not wrapped or integrated or anything. This is down market big time. C looks better.

Of course this isn’t the final product. The screens will be integrated when finalized. Give MB a little credit.

I hope, really hope you are correct. Also, the vents need to be upgraded. The current vents are gorgeous, stylish, elegant and highly functional. As well as proportionate to scale. Fingers are crossed.

Really??
Takes 2 seconds to see that this is a mix and match photoshop and a bad one at that.

Just look at the key...
There are countless wrong things to spot; wrong components, wrong angles.

Rockland 04-21-2019 02:37 PM

Either way, I am not a fan of this full touchscreen. My wife has an XC90. Hate using her touchscreen. Would have preferred this direction was not taken.

Yes, I agree. I'm not buying this photo at all.

I am going to assume this is not the w223... I hope not at least.

Streamliner 04-21-2019 10:29 PM

The photo may be chopped and fooled with, but it looks VERY much like a W223 prototype I saw, in person—and sat in—at an MB sponsored product survey I attended over a year ago. I do believe the big touch screen ala Tesla will be in the new S.

absent 04-22-2019 08:41 AM

Great.
So, now MB is aping Tesla.
With all the new cars going in that idiotic and unsafe for driving (read distracting to driver) direction of touch control screens, huge TV sets instead of proper instruments, I'm running out of normal cars to consider for myself.
Call me old school or dinosaur, I won't be upset, I still get to vote with my wallet though.....

You are correct. It won't be a hack job as shown the time of buttons is coming to an end...

I like analog gauges and buttons in a sports car. In a sedan I don't mind screens if properly integrated.

I just went out to my garage and gave my 2017 W222 a big hug.

Not only do I not blame you, but you must have really long arms.

Agreed. I just LOVED those Smiths gauges in my E Type Jaguar! It was the only car I ever had, where I would pull it into the garage after a day of driving and, the next day, ROLL it out of the garage to wash it, and something was broken! Usually electrical—and expensive. Lucas: “The Prince of Darkness!”

Agree, normal cars. Why does it need to be so complicated. I wonder what the percentage of S Class and E Class for that matter use more the majority or all of the extra tech their cars offer? I don't know the answer but I presume not many. The new BMW 3 series commercial states instead of being driven by technology, the car and driver drive the tech. What a concept. Maybe they are on to something.

There is nothing wrong with a large colorful screen well integrated in the dash ensconced in wood or leather that can do what you need it to (navigation, audio, phone, etc.). However I agree, this Tesla sized "monitor" is hideous. Not interested in driving a space ship.

Crap, My 2017 S550 lease is up soon and by the responses here, it looks like there will be a run on the 2020 S-class (the last year this model will be produced). I was hoping to get a good deal on the last year of the model run - but maybe not. As to the new upcoming S-class, add to that ugly screen the ugly new grill.... wooo hooo, I can't wait. :)

Utopia Texas 04-23-2019 07:31 PM

You might want to buy a 2020 Model when they first come out before all the good exterior colors are taken..... :)

The S has good exterior colors? Huh?

SOMEBODY! PLEASE! Don’t let me get started on this topic again! MB has such horrible, worn out, same old-same old exterior color choices. Go look at some of the gorgeous colors you can order on a BMW 7 and it will bring tears to your eyes.
