If I had my druther's, I'd still go with an S63 (if still available): https://www.caranddriver.com/mercedes-amg/s63-s65

LOL, the V12 never left the S_Class. Mercedes-AMG is who is dropping the V12. Maybach was always going to continue with the V12.

2020 S560 Sedan, 2019 SL450, 2019 E450 Luxury Trim Wagon, '24 BMW I7 on order...
I would love to see MB offer the V12 in a non-Maybach W222/W223. Along with it, I’d like to see them offer a bit more of a bespoke ordering experience, more along the lines of Bentley. I would love a velvety smooth twelve cylinder, along the lines of the dearly departed S600, but for the gigantic premium I know it will cost, I want more than just the V12 emblems on the fenders. I would pay $200K+ for an S Class, but NOT if I only get the same, old, BORING color choices, interiors, etc. Let me order the car the way I want it. A plain, painted steel roof would be a good start.

I am seriously considering a Bentley “New” Flying Spur, but am worried that I won’t like the way it drives. My S560 drives like a dream and I just don’t think the Bentley, with its air suspension will ride/drive as well as my MBC equipped S560. Definitely a first world concern. Decisions, decisions.

OMG man what a wonderful dilemma to have! Go drive it and report back, I bet you will love it. A Bentley is an up experience from a Mercedes in most areas.

You won't know until you drive one.
I did.
It's on a different level.

im not sure if you drove the flying spur yet but it drives amazing. My dealer had one for 3 days. The w12 is very smooth but it can throw you back as well. I currently have a gls 63 and I’m trading it in for the new bentayga when it comes out this year. It will have the same interior as the flying spur. Unfortunately Mercedes lost me on a new gls with the lack of leather and color options. It’s the same options as my wife’s GLE that we ordered. Nothing better. It’s a perfect gle or e class but not S. If you haven't driven one yet, I’m sure you’ll love it.

I have not yet driven the new Spur, but will as soon as I can. Thanks for the info. Sounds like you might be a customer for the rumored Maybach version of the GLS, no?

I saw the pictures of it and to be honest that should be the options on regular GLS. For alittle more I can have a perfect Bentley. The maybach gls still doesn’t have duel fan speeds for the front. That’s a big factor since I like it freezing and my wife has it at 80
