is it gonna be loud...

when i remove the resonator and put 2.5 piping in there. i don't want it to be very very loud, i don't want any fix it tickets. is it better to remove the resonator or get an eisenmann muffler.

personally i did both, but the eisenmann will not only look good but give ur exhaust note a throatier tone, and even when the resonator is removed it doens't make it that much louder, nothin that u would ever get pulled over for

I have custom 2.5 inch exhaust from my downpipe through Random Technologies high-flow cat, and Remus exhaust. I also removed my resonater as the junction to it represented the most restrictive part of the entire exhaust system. I was very pleasantly surprised to discover that the car did not get much louder at all except at very high rpms. Basically, just deeper and throaty... which is good in my opinion. :D

just an FYI, on my v8 crown victoria, i'm running a brand new h-pipe and 2 dynomax glasspack mufflers without tail pipes, and it isn't loud enough to get sopped. heres a sound clip: http://www.dynomax.com/audio/track02.wav

i removed my muffler and resonator on my c43...it was loud but i didnt get any tickets

I took out my res and put 3" piping on my Remus. There's definitely a deeper, throatier sound, but not as loud as a rice rocket.

That's not your crown victoria! Does your car sound close to that? Nod bad if it does.
That's a manual transmission (probably Rustang)

Just a quick question.
I've got a Remus muffler with a short amount of piping from the axle back, not sure of the diameter. This is on a C180.

What sort of diameter piping should I use without losing low end power or high end power, being either too big or too restrictive.

If I was to take the resonator off how loud would it get because where I live in Australia the exhaust DB can't exceed 90dB with the mircophone 1 metre away at a 45 degree angle when the engine is reved to about 3000rpm and then let go? Hope I explained it relatively straight forward.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes he did, and it sounds like a mustang. Hehe. I believe he lost power from doing that. :D

i lost hp when i put the "high flow muffler" on there amg has their stuff well designed...ad prefer to say it sounded like a dtm race car:D :D

that soundclip was a CROWN VIC? ROTFL! hate to say it, but WHY ON GOD'S GREEN EARTH would you do that? The Crown Vic, while a nice car in it's own league, has no business in a racer's jumpsuit. The engine sounded like a Rustang (yes, I do call them that). Only problem, the 'stang I'm thinking of is a 1991 Fastback LX... oops... BWAHAHA! j/k... nice-sounding engine
