Come on guys! Let's find a LIGHTER CRANKSHAFT pulley for our MBs!!!!!!

The EVOsport UD pulley group buy is coming together. Let's get together have have a lighter crankpulley made for our cars. These exist for almost every type of car out there (and only cost $129, etc), we can probably see a good 10 hp gain. Sure it will cost more for our Mercedes, like everything else, but it would still be cheap HP if we can get this done for under $400 a piece ($200-$300 would be nice!).

c43 /202 crank pulley

if somebody has the specs on this part or a sample, I'd like to see if I can reverse engineer it....I own a machine shop and might be able to turn a prototype out..maybe it wouldn't cost $300 each

Yes and how do you balance the harmonic vibrations with less mass ? I would have thought a thinner flywheel would be more effective.

I think I see pink elephants and flying pigs again. Someone invented a new physics.

Without getting into the never-ending harmonic dampener debate, it is possible to build a fully-dampened pulley such as evosport's 55K crank pulleys.

I believe our pulley(s) have a rubber part on it to help dampen vibrations.

All a pulley would have to do is just be lighter and use the same Mercedes rubber dampner.

Other cars and trucks have lighter pulley(s) options, and like stated in the other post it's been done for Mercedes as well.

I even know one person that had one custom made for his C280, I'm talking to the engineers right now. So, it's not a big deal, what really matters is if there is a market for it.
