North Korea solution

I was at the Doctors office and one of the other patients had a great idea about what to do with North Korea. He suggested that Trump should give them what they want. Send over a Nuke and blow the capital down with the little fat guy there. This way he gets what he always wanted. I liked the idea. Solves the problem.

But the little tubo already has nukes. He's not looking for more. He wants to give them away.

I heard that they don't have real nukes - they just added bi-uranium badges to the rockets so folks think it's the real deal. They kicked out the UN inspectors before they could check under the hood. Such posers.

You could choose to not open the thread....how about that for a quick solution to your apparent problem?

Brilliant. A nuclear war in Asia ought to really help stabilize the region and improve relations with China, largest financier of the national debt we can't pay back. Should be great for our interest rates! /s

Your "doctor" doesn't know much about the real world, especially international relations, military operations, strategy, tactics, ad infinitum.
Apparently you know even less.
If a missle is lauched at North Korea, they have a massive number of artillery pieces that are loaded and aimed at critical targets in South Korea beginning with Seoul and US military bases. Thousands of American service personnel and their dependents as well as American dependents would DIE very quickly and with great suffering.
This does not even begin to address North Korea's naval, air and other land capabilities to attack S. Korea, Japan, etc.
Apparently two very ignorant people had a really dumb discussion.

LOL!!!!
Remember we set the rates.
We control the terms.
And if they dump even 5% on the secondary market to hurt us, it will hurt them more.

I guess it takes one ignorant dumb person to identify with another. Doctor never said a thing it was another patient or do you not have the capability to read as well. Anyway Trump will take care of it soon.

The world, politically and geographically, is a giant puzzle made up of many interconnected pieces. China is best equipped to deal with Kim Jong-Un. America should use it's significant leverage with China to encourage them to do so.

NKorea is dying. Literally. They can't feed themselves nor provide basic necessities. The little fat one will milk foreign aid (or bribery as the case may be) until the people either wither up and die or revolt. If they revolt he will attack foreign powers to unite his people. NKorea is equivalent to a video game where no one can win. How they have gone this long without internal takeover is a mystery.

90% of North Korea's trade is with China. North Koreans virtually depend on China for their very lives, which is one of the main reasons China has the most leverage and best chance to rein in Un.

Un follows in his father's footsteps, strictly censoring all external influences, and controlling his people with fear.

Many experts agree that KJU will likely be Trump's biggest challenge. As much as most outside of NK would like to see him executed, the fact that the fat little b#%*ard has nukes and has demonstrated a willingness to use them requires dealing with him very carefully. Going cowboy on him will lead to tragedy for many IMHO.

We need to "encourage" China to take the lead on this one, while we continue to push for harsher sanctions.

Is it possible Trump is going to pull off something no other pres has managed to do?

Two different spins.

I think people accept Reuters as reasonably neutral.

China asks North Korea to stop missile tests, tells U.S. and South to seek talks

And from the spin doctors at Clinton News Network.

China to US: Be 'cool-headed' on North Korea

Trump has sufficiently baffled world leaders and upset conventional politics (not meant in insulting way) that I believe many objectives, including containment and/or possible nuclear de-armament of NK, may be possible.

If he, along with Xi, can succeed in at least causing Un to back down from his current aggressive posturing and agree to discussions with China it would be a big feather in Trump's. Expecting much more at this point is probably unrealistic.

Trump has baffled everyone. I wonder if part of this is his business style. I think Trump tends toward action vs non-action. This alone is the polar opposite of a typical politician. He acts launching a plan. The plan is not yet perfect. A good analogy might be how the high tech industry brings new products to market. On the heals of release 1.0 complete with bugs is 1.1 correcting the bugs. Trump seems to be doing this and he is also learning on the go. I am ok with it because I understood bringing in an outsider would not be without issue. On the other hand, the media is going crazy. Seems the daily headline is "Trump reverses course again." So what as long as he gets it right in the end.

Scott Adams the Dilbert creator wrote a nice piece on Trump's entrepreneurial style. I will have to see if I can locate it. Adams blog today has an interesting discussion on why Trump is feeding the media with the story that Russian U.S. relations is at an all time low. I agree with conclusions.

I believe that some of what Trump says/does is meant to confuse the media and the world, "keepin' em on their toes", and some of it is him finding his way. At this point I agree with you that whether or not he's flip-flopping on issues doesn't matter as long as he changed course in right direction.

Anyone who's been alive for more than the last 50 years or so knows that our relationship with Russia has seen worse times, so yeah, I agree that the latest negative pronouncements on both sides are artificially inflated.

- Missile testing complete, status; proven functional
- Nuclear testing successful. Goal of functional nuclear weapons achieved.
+ Released hostages
+/- Decommissioned (potentially earthquake damaged and obsolete) test site.
+/- Met with South Korean leadership (+) and U.S. top diplomat (+/-/?)
- Summit cancelled by Trump
.... Current situation no better than last decade +. Blustering, threats, and intransigence. Same old same old.
