"A Green New Deal" - aka the new socialist agenda

"A Green New Deal" - aka the new socialist agenda...

for those interested, you can read the burgeoning new socialist agenda here... FINAL Select Committee for A Green New Deal - read carefully...
(6) SCOPE OF THE PLAN FOR A GREEN NEW DEAL AND THE DRAFT LEGISLATION.
(A) The Plan for a Green New Deal (and the draft legislation) shall be developed with the objective of reaching the following outcomes within the target window of 10 years from the start of execution of the Plan:
  1. Dramatically expand existing renewable power sources and deploy new production capacity with the goal of meeting 100% of national power demand through renewable sources;
  2. building a national, energy-efficient, “smart” grid;
  3. upgrading every residential and industrial building for state-of-the-art energy efficiency, comfort and safety;
  4. eliminating greenhouse gas emissions from the manufacturing, agricultural and other industries, including by investing in local-scale agriculture in communities across the country;
  5. eliminating greenhouse gas emissions from, repairing and improving transportation and other infrastructure, and upgrading water infrastructure to ensure universal access to clean water;
  6. funding massive investment in the drawdown of greenhouse gases;
  7. making “green” technology, industry, expertise, products and services a major export of the United States, with the aim of becoming the undisputed international leader in helping other countries transition to completely greenhouse gas neutral economies and bringing about a global Green New Deal.
(B) The Plan for a Green New Deal (and the draft legislation) shall recognize that a national, industrial, economic mobilization of this scope and scale is a historic opportunity to virtually eliminate poverty in the United States and to make prosperity, wealth and economic security available to everyone participating in the transformation. In furtherance of the foregoing, the Plan (and the draft legislation) shall:
  1. provide all members of our society, across all regions and all communities, the opportunity, training and education to be a full and equal participant in the transition, including through a job guarantee program to assure a living wage job to every person who wants one;
  2. diversify local and regional economies, with a particular focus on communities where the fossil fuel industry holds significant control over the labor market, to ensure workers have the necessary tools, opportunities, and economic assistance to succeed during the energy transition;
  3. require strong enforcement of labor, workplace safety, and wage standards that recognize the rights of workers to organize and unionize free of coercion, intimidation, and harassment, and creation of meaningful, quality, career employment;
  4. ensure a ‘just transition’ for all workers, low-income communities, communities of color, indigenous communities, rural and urban communities and the front-line communities most affected by climate change, pollution and other environmental harmincluding by ensuring that local implementation of the transition is led from the community level and by prioritizing solutions that end the harms faced by front-line communities from climate change and environmental pollution;
  5. protect and enforce sovereign rights and land rights of tribal nations;
  6. mitigate deeply entrenched racial, regional and gender-based inequalities in income and wealth (including, without limitation, ensuring that federal and other investment will be equitably distributed to historically impoverished, low income, deindustrialized or other marginalized communities in such a way that builds wealth and ownership at the community level);
  7. include additional measures such as basic income programs, universal health care programs and any others as the select committee may deem appropriate to promote economic security, labor market flexibility and entrepreneurism; and
  8. deeply involve national and local labor unions to take a leadership role in the process of job training and worker deployment.
(C) The Plan for a Green New Deal (and the draft legislation) shall recognize that innovative public and other financing structures are a crucial component in achieving and furthering the goals and guidelines relating to social, economic, racial, regional and gender-based justice and equality and cooperative and public ownership set forth in paragraphs (2)(A)(i) and (6)(B). The Plan (and the draft legislation) shall, accordingly, ensure that the majority of financing of the Plan shall be accomplished by the federal government, using a combination of the Federal Reserve, a new public bank or system of regional and specialized public banks, public venture funds and such other vehicles or structures that the select committee deems appropriate, in order to ensure that interest and other investment returns generated from public investments made in connection with the Plan will be returned to the treasury, reduce taxpayer burden and allow for more investment. - source, page 3, draft text
the faqs are the best... generalized visions of climate, socio- and economic utopia for all, with no real specifics... young social activists lack the real-world experience to give them perspective as to the realities or consequences of their activism... whether you're liberal or conservative, democrat or republican, scary imo.

  • Dramatically expand existing renewable power sources and deploy new production capacity with the goal of meeting 100% of national power demand through renewable sources; (Make energy more expensive)
  • building a national, energy-efficient, “smart” grid; (Make the grid more complex and less reliable as it attempts to use technology to do things it was not intended to do)
  • upgrading every residential and industrial building for state-of-the-art energy efficiency, comfort and safety; (Lots of feel good subsidies and targeted pork spending)
  • eliminating greenhouse gas emissions from the manufacturing, agricultural and other industries, including by investing in local-scale agriculture in communities across the country; (More regulations)
  • eliminating greenhouse gas emissions from, repairing and improving transportation and other infrastructure, and upgrading water infrastructure to ensure universal access to clean water; (Even more regulations)
  • funding massive investment in the drawdown of greenhouse gases; (Even more targeted pork)
  • making “green” technology, industry, expertise, products and services a major export of the United States, with the aim of becoming the undisputed international leader in helping other countries transition to completely greenhouse gas neutral economies and bringing about a global Green New Deal. (Try to sell the world, something no one want to buy, because all the great Progressive Societies are desiring to do the same)

    1. provide all members of our society, across all regions and all communities, the opportunity, training and education to be a full and equal participant in the transition, including through a job guarantee program to assure a living wage job to every person who wants one; (Huge subsidies for favored 'academic' institutions)
    2. diversify local and regional economies, with a particular focus on communities where the fossil fuel industry holds significant control over the labor market, to ensure workers have the necessary tools, opportunities, and economic assistance to succeed during the energy transition; (Increase energy cost while subsidizing 'favored communities')
    3. require strong enforcement of labor, workplace safety, and wage standards that recognize the rights of workers to organize and unionize free of coercion, intimidation, and harassment, and creation of meaningful, quality, career employment; (Even MORE regulation and (targeted) enforcement)
    4. ensure a ‘just transition’ for all workers, low-income communities, communities of color, indigenous communities, rural and urban communities and the front-line communities most affected by climate change, pollution and other environmental harm including by ensuring that local implementation of the transition is led from the community level and by prioritizing solutions that end the harms faced by front-line communities from climate change and environmental pollution; (Send subsidies to favored communities)
    5. protect and enforce sovereign rights and land rights of tribal nations; (Send more funds to Indian Nations, so it can be spent as efficiently as in the past)
    6. mitigate deeply entrenched racial, regional and gender-based inequalities in income and wealth (including, without limitation, ensuring that federal and other investment will be equitably distributed to historically impoverished, low income, deindustrialized or other marginalized communities in such a way that builds wealth and ownership at the community level); (Target subsidies by progressively preferred social classes)
    7. include additional measures such as basic income programs, universal health care programs and any others as the select committee may deem appropriate to promote economic security, labor market flexibility and entrepreneurism; and (Roll all existing social support programs under this new "Grand Plan" because everyone know big government programs are always better than other government programs)
    8. deeply involve national and local labor unions to take a leadership role in the process of job training and worker deployment. (Buy off the unions to keep the vote)

    (C) The Plan for a Green New Deal (and the draft legislation) shall recognize that innovative public and other financing structures are a crucial component in achieving and furthering the goals and guidelines relating to social, economic, racial, regional and gender-based justice and equality and cooperative and public ownership set forth in paragraphs (2)(A)(i) and (6)(B). the green new deal resolution (final)... lots of feel good governance... but of special note...
(H) guaranteeing a job with a family-sustaining wage, adequate family and medical leave, paid vacations, and retirement security to all people of the United States; - document, pg 12

(O) providing all people of the United States with —
(i) high-quality health care;
(ii) affordable, safe, and adequate housing;
(iii) economic security; and
(iv) access to clean water, clean air, healthy and affordable food, and nature - document, pg 13, 14
feel-good governance at its best...
I think that there's a lot of people more concerned about being precisely, factually, and semantically correct than about being morally right. - aoc, 60 minutes, jan 6, 2019
...not so much concerned with being precise, rational, factual or correct, for some it's more about speaking lofty moral demagoguery to make everyone feel good... #missionaccomplished

And just like the lies about keeping your doctor and insurance, there can't be everyone just getting a pay check for no work, since if that is so they won't have anyone to do the dirty deeds for them.
So its more pie in the sky communist demo crat lies. But getting rid of your possessions just like old john lennons song Imagine said will be on their agenda. Your home will be a concentration camp city
so you won't need or even be able to own a private transportation device. Huge apartments will eliminate the need to retrofit millions of private homes, and the elimination of private property will mean more
land saved for the controllers of the new deal to live on and enjoy the privacy. Nice now, that some of the truth of their plans are now coming out so all that thought it was just a conspiracy theory can now see it. So what all would you demoncrat supporters like to give up first? That party is the take something away from us party. Maybe give up all your cars now, start living the GREEN NEW DEAL.

I read that NY is high on the list of states with people moving out. I believe CNBC did a story where they guesstimate a million people will move out in the next year or so. You would think the state Government would be praying for more jobs, especially more tax revenue.
