It's only $120 but I still think it's odd that CPO didn't cover all of it. I got charged for "latch adjustments" that weren't covered by the warranty @ $75 and ~$37 for brackets that prevent rattling. And then tax. I wonder what it would've cost without the CPO.

I went balistic when they wanted to charge me over $200 for a latch adjustment on my 30 day old CPO with factory warranty....So they did it for free...and in the end could not adjust it...so put in a new latch.. Make sure this is a permament fix and if it goes bad again and they have to replace the latch completely get a full refund on the "adjustment"

Tell me about it. When I first got this vehicle (CPO), I hadn't even made the first car payment yet and they tried to make me pay $1500 because the CV boots had broken and joints were blown because of it. CPO doesn't cover CV boots. I had to do A LOT of *****ing for them to cover it because it was apparent the damaged boots happened prior and was undetected despite their BS inspection. I have to say the entire CPO experience has really left a sour taste of my perception of Mercedes service. I had bought CPO smugly thinking I was doing something smart because I wanted the peace of mind.

CPO is a way for the dealer to charge $2000 more for a used vehicle regardless of condition. My wife test drove CPO R-Classes with with broken & missing interior trim and upholstery stains. All you get for that $2k is a warranty.

It varies from dealer to dealer how they sell a CPO - granted that their pricing varies too. Some dealers call a used vehicle with an extended warranty as a CPO but that's about it. Ray Catena (all their cars) has a very good fleet of CPO cars. When you buy a CPO from them, your call will have new tires and brakes and it really looks brand new. At least it was like that when I bought my Infiniti from them some years ago. MY brother in law bought a 'CPO' Audi but he had to replace the tires and brakes after only a few months of use and that's out of his pocket.

Sure, but the part that is supposed to be consistent is the 500 point (or whatever # it is) inspection. They shouldn't be selling a vehicle that has blown CV boots and axle joints and then claiming it to be certified.

True. That means the shop didn't inspect the car well. Something tells me I wouldn't trust that dealer. They basically slap on an extended warranty on a used car and that's about it. At least your car have some coverage for the duration of the warranty period.
