Update 2 - just crossed over 160,000 kms on my 2011 Bluetec. Have to say that this past 15,000 kms has been the most trouble free since I bought it. So the car is staying for now even though the ext warranty just ran out. It's been unreliable, but I still love the car...
Oh, unrelated - I was rear ended by a Ford Econoline - so the rear bumper cover has to be replaced. The Chrome trim piece won't clip in anymore so the entire cover has to be replaced. No other damage which was impressive given the impact. The good news is it's covered by his insurance and the new bumper cover means I finally get the rear hitch cover that never came with the car (my selling dealer installed the MB hitch and screwed up the cutout).

2008 R320 cdi
Bought it with 182k, had to replace air filters cabin filters, fuel filter, and trans filter and fresh trans fluid. It has ran great since I got the dirty trans fluid out and the nearly clogged air filters. Have 187,000 now enjoying 27mpgs on hwy.

I purchased my 2008 R 3 months ago with ~95k miles. It's my backup vehicle so I've put <1k miles on it since. I'm already getting an itch to sell it, been wanting a 2003-06 S55 AMG for years but couldn't find one so I settled for the R

We have had the normal stuff......nothing major. Leaking gaskets here and there that had to be replaced but 10 years of driving and 200,000 miles that kind of stuff happens to any car. We did have one of the rear air suspension shocks go flat a few years ago.

2009 R350 310k miles. It drives well but has a transmission component slipping, an eevap code and some electrical problems but if i can replace the battery i reckon i can do another 50-100k miles easy. They are tough cars to maintain but if you're careful im sure they can last more than 500k miles

You can change the battery at Pep Boys Autocare, with a Bosch battery....just tell them to put a battery saver so the car doesnt lose any electricity and its settings...

I have a 2011 R350 with 117,000 Kms on it. Drives great and is very comfortable, but I have had a lot of issues. I bought the car with 60,000 KM's. The oil cooler seals leaked and were replaced at 80,000 KM; the DEF tank heater failed at 70,000 KM, and the DEF injection pump failed at 90,000 KM. Just recently i had sensors in the emissions system fail regarding the Diesel Particulate Filter, and am told that the diesel particulate filter itself is going; the vacuum pump was leading oil onto the serpentine belt so that all needed replacing, and now the mechanic told me that I should expect to replace the timing chain soon as the adjuster is backed out all of the way and it clatters loud at startup. It also has a shudder when shifting from first to second gear, so I can only imagine what that is. I can't believe that my timing chain is "stretched" after just 117,000 KMs (72,000 miles). This car has been driven by my wife, garage kept and regularly maintained over the last three years. In contrast, I drive a 2013 GMC Sierra 2500HD Denali with a 6.6L duramax diesel that has over 150,000 MILES. Its my work, so I beat on it and abuse it, take off road, and it never breaks down, no timing chain issues, no oil leaks, no vacuum pump issues, no transmission issues, etc. After reading the comments on this forum about the issues with the R350, I think that the term "reliable" is very subjective, but I would not rate the R350 as a reliable vehicle, sorry.

Yea my problem right now is that the battery is completely kaput so i need someone to help me figure out how to move the seat with no battery to change it. If i can get that done the car shoudl be back on the road soon. Here's hoping i can be driving it again by next week.
