"Car Too Low" ?

my 07 R500 is giving me "Car too low" sign in red and will not elevate on left front corner.

i had sagging issue on right front last year and did replace the right air spring(used Arnott's part) which took care of the problem.

and now was having the issue with the left front one. so had the left air spring replaced yesterday but it did not take care of the problem. usually when i start the car, it will ask me to wait until the car elevates. the compressor seem to be working fine.

but when i start driving for a little bit, the left front will sag and the 'car too low' sign will pop up and will not elevate. i'd have to restart the car in order for it to elevate. the right front spring works just fine.

my mechanic thinks there's a leak somewhere and will take a look.

what other components could be problem?

can you give some inputs please?

It could be a line leak, but just as likely to be a stuck control valve.

I agree with Peter that you likely have a leak. However, the fact the system is not re-inflating is problematic. Unless its a big leak the compressor should come on and re-inflate it.

If it were me, I would replace the compressor relay. They are a known issue, usually stuck closed and burning out the compressor; but it can be stuck open as well. $20 and 1 minute to replace.

You could test for a leak with soapy water at the top of the strut and the valve block where the line goes into the valve block.

The valve block is about $300-400

To starbound01,

"If it were me, I would replace the compressor relay. They are a known issue, usually stuck closed and burning out the compressor; but it can be stuck open as well. $20 and 1 minute to replace."

I have the same problem on my r320. Where is the compressor relay located and the part number? and where to get it?

Thanks in advance.

I don't recall the part number... but there are threads that have it. It's actually a replacement number.

But, if you go to the dealer and tell them what you need they will hand you one and charge you $20.

On the R500 it's the fuse box behind the passenger headlight. It"s the green one 2 in from the left. The far left one is the starter relay. There should only be 2 green relays. Note that the new one will be a little sturdier than the old one.
