2017 Nav update DVD

Hi guys,
so MB sent me an email proclaiming that the new DVD for my R500 is out .. special pricing and free shipping before Dec30 (o.O)
But my question is... does the dvd update the navigation software itself or just purely an update to the maps and i'm still stuck with the horrid nav that is already there ?
Thanks anyone who knows ...
My current disc is the 2011 (or 12) so it's not the original 2006 disc.

I am guessing is just the map update. It will give u more point of interest and updated roadway. I doubt it will update the system itself.

I did the 2015 map update. The system will stay the same.
