Check oil level - 2006 R500?
Guys, did some major work on the R500. Replaced the left front axle, spark plugs, power steering pump, ac pulley/clutch, radiator, radiator fluid and oil/filter.
I put in 7 quarts and was hoping to be able to check the oil level via the instrument panel but can't seem to find out how. I hate how these models don't come with a dipstick.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Leo

Ok, figured it out. Key in position 1, hit R "reset" button 3 times, use up arrow key on steering wheel once, turn key to position 2, up arrow once. Oil level will then show.
8.5 capacity on my model year. Added 1 more quart, kept the indicator showing so I could see it rise to the proper level.

It’s my guess this is the “professional” path.
Probably your owners manual describes the “civilian” path where the dash screen response is simply “ok” or “add 1 quart” or similar. Surely not as many steps required.

My low oil indicator quit working
I used to get the msg Add X oil at next fill up, but suddenly, I am not getting them anymore, and it isnt because I don't need oil. Any suggestions on how to turn this back on?
