Seems there will be a choice of rear wheel drive or 4 matic with the Cab...wondering if that will apply to the coupe?

Thanks for the reply. So are you saying the '17 550 coupe will remain as 4matic only, even though the cabriolet will offer a choice of RWD or 4matic?

I simply was adding clarity to a comment that didn't specifically reference the S550 Cab.
Hope this helps.

2) I'm glad to see that you are the self-appointment judge of what is
useless.
3) It's also interesting that you know "what everyone already knows."
4) With every response you become more aggressive. You should consider
why that happens. It is neither constructive nor useful.

Yeah it would, but I get their logic for making the S550 Coupe 4Matic only. A buyer in Florida will likely still buy 4Matic, but a buyer in NYC (big market for Benz) would likely pass on a S550 Coupe if it weren't 4Matic. I agree, they should have just made it optional.

2020 S560 Sedan, 2019 SL450, 2019 E450 Luxury Trim Wagon, '24 BMW I7 on order...
Many folks are calling the new S Class Cabriolet "Beautiful," but as with everything, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.
I was just SO excited about this car, after seeing the Ocean Drive concept of several years ago, when plans for a new S Class drop top were announced. I waited and waited for the new S Cabriolet to come out. I had told my dealer that I was ready to place my order. Then I saw the car in person, in both "Sport" and regular trim. I drove the car. It drove nicely. Sure, I was going to get one, I had been planning for it for years, it was a SURE thing......but then the idea just started to fade on me.
With me, this car has been like "The Emperor's New Clothes." It's a brand new, S Class Cabriolet, so it MUST be beautiful, sexy, stunning, incredibly appealing and I MUST be lusting after it, right? Well, actually not.
I have come to the conclusion that the design is very unexciting, which is how I have felt about the coupe. As a matter of fact, I think the design is boring and unappealing. When I look at the completely uninspired color palette for both the interior and exterior, I could fall asleep!
I'm happy for the new owners of these cars, who just love them, but for me, the new S Cabriolet was a missed opportunity by MB. They could have created something very special, exciting, elegant and inspiring--a "halo" car, but in the end, they simply cut the top off their boring coupe and gave us left overs for dinner. They should have built the Ocean Drive pictured here.
Oh well. When a company tries to be everything to everybody, they end up doing little that is inspiring, which is a shame.

Well they actually have done something special. NO one outside of Bentley or Rolls has anything like it, not Cadillac, Lexus, BMW, Audi, Jaguar or anyone else. The Cabrio is a winner.
