The distronic cruise on my 2017 S63 cab is very inconsistent in the distance from car in front of me. I have tried all settings and found the distance just not as consistent as many other cars i have had with this option: BMW 335ix (my wife's current car), BMW550, BMW650i, Mercedes SL550 (3 of them), Audi S6, Porsche Macan Turbo.
I notice a big difference when i drive my wife's BMW 335ix.
The dealer said something about maybe we could "recalibrate the cruise" I don't think that is the problem-it varies at the same distance setting from 1 day to the next or even as i am driving the car.
Has anyone else noticed this problem?

No issues at all. My distronic is "feet up on the dash" reliable.

The Distronic Plus varies the distance in accordance to the speed so your car is 2-4 seconds behind the car in front of you. So if you are driving faster then the distance will be further and if you are driving slower the distance will be less. Rotating the knob on the cruise control stalk will adjust the number of seconds. Safety dictates you always leave at least 3 or even 4 seconds between you and the car in front of you.

haa- did you read my post? Some people do not have the attention to details that i have. i have had at least 10 cars with distronic or adaptive cruise and i am very familiar with how it works. The S63 distronic cruise is less accurate and less responsive at recovering when the car in front has slowed and then speeds up than our BMW 335ix. I find myself continually reseting the distance knob and i do not have to do that on the BMW. This is very disappointing for a slightly less than $200k car. However i use the distronic cruise all the time. I don't have to pay as close attention to my speed or braking.
