$10K Off

'19 S560 coupe, black on black, $139k MSRP, is offered to me by MB dealer at $10K off. What do you guys think?

okbarnett 02-11-2019 05:17 PM

I don't think so. Probably at least 70% are black here in FL.

I think if you want it, buy it. Otherwise, not sure why, or what, you’re asking?

I'm asking about the amunt of discount compared to what other dealers are offering in the country..

okbarnett 02-12-2019 01:50 PM

figure 5-7%

rustybear3 02-12-2019 02:36 PM

Considering that's over 7%, I consider that a good deal and fair as well.

also dealers do get 'kick backs' or credits from the mfg at certain times to get rid of certain cars. there may be some money behind the scenes. they could be getting 10% to 15% to sell the car. Or it could be a used, dealer driven car that really isnt worth list price.
I would say, be sceptical of the generosity, and offer 5k less. See what the reaction is

Seeing it's a brand, new car, I doubt if they are any kickbacks involved. You could offer less, but my guess they'll hold firm to what they have already given you. Can't hurt to ask.

shouldnt be any incentives on that car or this time of year. Who knows, maybe just willing to get a car sold. So ask for more discount. Its a little suspicious about the car history

ItalianJoe1 02-13-2019 10:00 PM

Normal discount for a 140K car IMO. Non-amg S coupes don't sell like crazy, they are really expensive for a "base" car, compared to a comparable sedan for example. They probably just wanna move it, and nobody is buying a car like that for MSRP.
