B-Pillar Vinyl around seatbelt opening
1 Attachment(s)
1991 350SDL - Black Pearl/Dove Grey. Gorgeous car, and I have (so far) a good engine. Exterior of car is perfect with the exception of one small paint blemish on front right fender (which will eventually get fixed).
Working on a couple of minor things on the interior and looking for some advice. The opening around the seat belt adjuster on the B-pillar has the vinyl coming loose. It looks like there should have been a trim piece around the opening, but the Mercedes parts lookup site doesn't show one - just shows the B-pillar. Does anyone know if there was a trim bezel or if it was just held on over the foam with adhesive? It's bugging me. Minor, I know - but I want it to look right. The foam has broken down over the years, and the vinyl just sort of 'flops' around. Thought about taking off the B-pillar, and using some spray adhesive to re-attach it, but if there is a trim bezel, I would rather try to find that. |
There is no trim bezel I have ever seen. You may be able to use fabric glue and a long Q-Tip to put some adhesive on it without having to remove it. Mine is starting to break down a little, but so far still looks good.

Thanks - I will give the q-tip and fabric adhesive a try.... Figured it was going to come down to that anyway.
Appreciate the response! |
