300SDL Cranks but will not start

Just finished doing some major work : valve job, new chains , glow plugs ,etc. During the process I replaced the O-Rings and Copper seal washers on the 6 outlets on the injection pump. Unfortunately the tip of my washer removal tool had gotten magnetized and disturbed 1 of the plungers under the spring. I have read that this is the death of the pump an engine will not start. I felt pretty good about re-inserting it , but engine will not start ?? Can anyone confirm or deny this fear ? I have cranked a long time and have fuel leaking at all 6 ( loosened ) injector pipes. I do not however have fuel spraying as if under pressure ? Finally although I bought a special tool that screws into the side of the pump plug...I am not 100% confident the pump is timed properly ?? Appreciate any thoughts or experiences. If it gets to that point...does anyone recommend a pump rebuilder ? Thanks Rich

Are your glow plugs functioning? Sometimes the Glow Plug Relay will develop a hairline crack in the fuse and you won't start.
Test by jumping the fuse poles with a piece of 14G copper housewire.
If it starts replace the GPR fuse. If not on to next down the line.
