Considering a 1989 300 SEL...how reliable are these cars?

Found a nice 1989 300 SEL at a local mercedes dealership. It has about 77k miles on it. It has been serviced at dealership. I am not familiar with the common problems or reliability of this car. Would appreciate any input...thank u.

Very reliable! However, as with anything this old there may be some issues. Check axle boots for dry cracking. Also, listen for front end "clunks" indicating worn caster rod bushings or lower ball joints. All family easy stuff to replace.
Check for oil leaks which can be common on that engine.

I've owned a W126 (at least one) for the past 35 years. They are great cars.
