BENZ MECHANIC (not dealership) vs REGULAR MECHANIC
I have a 1996 S420,my question is do you guys think a regular mechanic can do quality work,(not technical issues) but front end work, brakes, shocks, rear end work, changing fluids, etc,as good as an independent BENZ mechanic can do,and not a dealership Benz mechanic, but a BENZ mechanic that exclusively works on BENZ's,and BMW's?????? Thanks in advance.

some things are different, like adjustment on steering box, lift points, they can damage unibody.I won't let anyone work on mine, unless they have worked on a Benz.

I even remove my wheels and take them to mount tires I buy online.

I would not take my abenz to Pep Boys or jo blow's shop. If I see I'm out of my league on a certain part that needs to be changed or rebuilds I have no problem for working out the cash to the dealership. May cost a lot but at least I know when I drive it out it's going to be done right with the warranty
