Sunroof on s420 wont open and it leaks

So my sunroof won't slide open when operated despite the motor running. Almost feels like there's something preventing it from moving, and when it rains water tends to leak from the right side of the headliner at the A frame. Any ideas on how to go about this problem?

My car had a leak like that about a decade ago. If I recall there is a sunroof drain line that runs down the A-pillar. At the time my mechanic plugged that line, since the drain at the back is adequate to get rid of whatever is there.

As to the sunroof, it is highly likely that the acoustic material that was glued to your roof at the factory is hanging down and as the sunroof slides aft, it catch's this material and jams. If you pull out your sunroof shade (easy to do), you can visually look back in the gap and see the material hanging down. I'm taking my car next week to a guy who has trimmed these acoustic sheets without having to drop the headliner.
