hello everyone,

i am trying to upgrade my 2001 S430 mirror covers+leds to a factory 2006 mirror covers+leds with 1 more light at the bottom of the housing cover.

the old ones have 2 wires, and the new ones have 4 wires.

anyone has done that, any ideas? or i have to go through a long trial process?

dumb question... Is there a bulb in the side mirror, my info center tells me to check lamp

No light bulb. You have to replace the whole insert. quiet an easy task. you can get nice looking new LED and install it yourself in 10-15 min

I just completed changing the lights on the mirrors on my 2001 s500. The installation went fine thanks to the great info on this site. My only issue is that I can't seem to get the covers to snap back into place securely. The wires are not in the way, but it seems like they won't go on all the way. Any ideas? Really need to make sure they are on securely!!! Thanks in advance!

try bending the metal clip so that it locks back into place, sometimes when uninstalling the cover, the metal clip gets bent too far so that it doesnt lock into place, just keep trying

Ok Guys! I'm back again, Got 2001 S430. Have been having some issues with vibration, it feels like suspension is dampering the bumps. I took it to MB workshop not the stealership guys. I have my both uppper control and lower control arm changed, after changing that I was told that I need to change both my "Lower Ball Joint" and both "Thrust Arms", let me say this, I often buy my parts and take it to the workshop. I was looking on to buy thrust arm and found different pictures shown as Arms. Went to the stealership site to check the real picture for Thrust Arm but I couldn't find anything listed as Thrust Arm, what I found was Lateral Arm. Could Thrust Arm and Lateral be the same thing? Does thrust arm is part of the front suspension of rear suspension? The same picture I found online on partgeeks as Thrust Arm was listed on Stealership site as "Track Bar"/Ft Lateral Arm. Pls need your help on this ones fellows and all the good techs out there in the forum......Thank you all for your time.

I just got done installing the eBay china led side mirrors for like $23 shipped


What a piece of ****! They fit in just fine but I was getting hyperflash and a bulb out on the dash

Tried to resolve the issues. No luck

Also they were not any brighter, maybe even a little dimmer than the stock ones!!

Reinstalled my stock ones and threw these in the garbage

I don't know how anyone can get them to work without bulb out warnings because they have zero resistors built in.

Waste of $23 and an hour of my time

I do not recommend buying these cheap pieces of ****.

I can install any color you want in the factory or aftermarket housing. I can do patterns with the LED's too! I'm in Vegas, you will have to ship them to me and I will return them the same day with the shipping method you prefer. I have done my own several different ways and settled on three rows of soft white with each row longer than the next like an arrow somewhat. I can also tint any lens a perfect glossy black. Plenty of pictures too...

Gents, also have that problem of the error on the dash and high frequency flashing on the dash indicators but strangely all lamps on the outside flashing in the regular frequency. I replace the mirror ones with aftermarket leds as mine were faded and broken, They look great and work well but I like to get rid of the error. It is clearly these Aftermarket replacements as both alarms Left and Right come on (White alarm - reset with R but they come back)

A. As far as I know when you reverse wire they do not work (Diodes are one directional)
B. I also would think it to be resistant errors which could be fixed with an inline resistor, however what is the size of it
C. I tried to measure the resistance of my "Old" lamps and compare with the new ones and then add the resistor to compensate but the reading is in Mega Ohm and instable.

Is there not an electrical fundi who can guide me through a process of fixing this error.
Anyones help is highly appreciated.
