Should I buy an extended warranty?

Looking for suggestions. My Starmark will be up next month due to years...I have a 01 s430, called the dealer to see what was available for my car extended warranty wise since I live in California I cant get online like normal people and buy an extended warranty. Dealer says for 48,000/4years it will be $4200...Now in the last month my baby Austin has been in the shop twice...First it was the airmatic failure which need to have the shocks resealed then 3 weeks later the 2 wires in the engine had a short (all covered by Starmark)...I know I will keep my baby because I have no payments and it is still beautiful...it has 75000 miles...driven to work everyday about 25 miles one way...My question is would you pop for the bumper to bumper warranty or keep that money in your money market account and when things go wrong fix them?????????Thanks in adavnce for suggestions. My husband says get the warranty, everyone else says nope. Confused in California

One $4500 trip would pay for itself!

Your choice...if it were me, I'd live on the edge and leave it in the MM, forgoing the warranty.

4yr/48K on a car with 75K will have you covered until over 120K on the odometer. If you like the car, definately get it.

I say keep your money, unless you have a car that has been a problem or has been abused. Read the fine print before signing if you go that route.

From what I hear those warranties don't cover nearly as much as the factory warranty did. I would be surprised if you ever get you monies' worth out of that warranty, and would agree w/ the others here who say not to bother. If you'er really concerned, put the $4,500 in a CD or MM and enjoy the car!
