Service warning came on...
hi guys..my service warning is now showing...and I wanna know something. I've been told that I HAVE to get the service done by the stealer...is that correct? I'm asking because I have a friend who claims there are other places that can perform the same service.
Feedback is appreciated!

well...
i took mine to the dealership, to find out that another shop that works on MB's, BMW's etc.. can do the exact same thing for much cheaper... again.. it is the "STEALERSHIP" - but just make sure its a reputable shop..
but.. ya might wanna wait for an experts reply to ur question....

I'm no expert, but I've read dozens of posts about how the "other guys" have screwed up cars and how people end up having to go to the dealer to fix the mess. It ends up costing much more than if they had just gone to the dealer in the first place. My experience has been that the dealer sometimes charges a little more for labor--probably because of all the additional training required to touch a Mercedes car--but that parts are no more than anyone else would charge for OEM replacements.
Spend a little more up front and save a LOT, in both cash and hassles, down the road. Dealers don't survive by screwing their customers, but they thrive by doing good work for a reasonable price.
FWIW: I have NO connection w/ any dealer anywhere.

Is it a CEL (Check Engine Light) or what, also what is the mileage on your vehicle? Mileage may have tripped your light.
