2000 S430 Wont start - please help!
Hey guys,
Really goofy problem this car is having. about half the time when I go to start it up it will not even attempt to crank. I have checked most of the obvious items...new brake light swich, started using a different key, battery voltage, etc. but nothing seems to work.
I can always tell when it will not crank because if I step on the brake I will not here the usual "click" from the shifter that lets me know the interlock has disengaged.
Does anyone have an idea what might be causing this weird behavior? I am anxious to get this fixed because I do not want to be stranded.

well youve already tried a second key so I give you props for that, thats most than most will even try, it has nothing to do with the batteries in your keys so dont waste your money replacing those, the key will start your car without batteries in it, the EIS sees a signal from a micro chip in the key, from what youve told me, it sounds as if your EIS is taking a ****........ you need to run some codes on it tho, is it still under warranty? when you put the key in and it doesnt start will it turn at all?
