driver's side headlight washer leaking!! got questions..
i found out that the connector that feeds the driver's side headlight washer is leaking. this is for my 01 E55 but I'm asking here b/c many of you are DIY gurus.
there is very little room to work under the driver headlight, but how is the connector removed? is this a common problem, do i have to replace the whole thing, or just a rubber ring or something?
also, can i just pull out the headlight washer by hand? or will that damage the mechanism?

Recently had the passenger side headlight jet replaced due to a deteriorated o-ring/washer. Cost was only $37 (parts & labor) at the dealership. BTW, the dealer todl me to use the headlamp washers to minmize the chances of the system parts deteriorating. This seems to make sense.

You need to replace the o-ring. Open that little door and if the nozzle is there push it until it clicks back in place. That normally stops the leak. Until you get the washer replaced I suggest you dont use the headlight washer. If the nozzle is missing then you have to buy a new nozzle $300.
i LOVE this board!! you were dead on my friend. this was the easiest diy repair ever.. for some reason the nozzle was loose and all i had to do was clean it a bit and put it back in. and no more leaking!!! thanks bud!! can i hang out here more often??

ken, i used the headlight washer once today, and the whole tank was drained. when i checked the nozzle, it seemed tight but i pushed it in as far as it'll go, and no leaking.
it seems like whenever i use the headlight washer, the nozzle pops out of its location and thus cause leaking. do i need to buy a new nozzle?

So if I'm not mistaken, all you have to do to remove the washer nozzle is open the door and pull on the nozzle until it just pops out. And to replace it, you just push the new one in. Is it that simple?
