W220 Starter Issue
Hello all,
2003 S500 4matic
I'm writing this pretty frustrated with my local mercedes benz dealership.
It all started when my w220 which I recently bought wasn't starting on the first try. It took 2 tries to start. Eventually over time, it took 3, 4, 5. Then it would be that I could only have luck starting it once a day, then once a week. I tried replacing the battery but to no help. Since I moved to a new area, I didn't have anyone that I knew was experience with these cars and made the mistake of taking it to my local MB dealership. They changed the ME (told me its the same as ECU) and said there was an electrical fault with it. I paid about 3 grand for them to replace it. For a couple days after, the car was running fine but then the issue came back. Now every morning it takes 2 starts for the car to start. The dealership is no help claiming that they did the work they said they would, and that I got what I paid for. For extra info, the car doesn't make any particular noises when not starting.
I'm considering selling the car and taking the loss, but ultimately would prefer if the car didn't have this issue. Any ideas on how to resolve?

You will get MUCH better advice if you tell us EXACTLY what is happening and not happening.
For example, "My car won't start." is totally useless. "When I turn the key to start, nothing happens - no noise, no click." is very helpful. So is, "When I try to start, there is just a grinding noise." Or, "When I try to start, the engine sounds as if it is just barely turning."
