s500 price check
Hello,
I am a newb to this forum. And a first time Used Benz shopper i wanted to a deal by some of the experts out here. Just want to make sure im really getting a good deal. I went initially to the dealer for a s430 but he said he would have this one prepped on the floor in a week, since its still in transport. Here are the specs on it so far.
2001 s500 39k mile - Sport package w/ 18" chrome AMG wheels, Black exterior / Ash interior , 6 disc, sunshade, wood steering & heated seats (front)
asking price is $23,500
I am thinking about getting an extended warranty and having an MB dealership do an inspection just to cover my own a**.
Are there any other issues with this model year any one might see as a potential problem in the future.
Mileage seems to check out with carfax last reporting it at 28k miles one year ago.
Any input or tips are greatly appreciated. I just don't want an expensive paper weight.

Why is that? I don't think 39k is too unusual for a 100k luxury car. I bought an 04 S500 last month with 5k miles on it, and another member bought an 03 S600 with 4000 miles. I'm sure many people (including myself) who buy these cars have multiple vehicles, and don't use them as daily drivers.
To the OP, have it fully inspected and get a good extended warranty. A low-mileage S500 for that price is a hell of a lot of vehicle for the $$$.
