Don't listen to them. Several of them aren't even going to buy it, and the others just want it for nothing so they can flip it for a profit. I think you are getting close to a good number for your your car.

youre already at 10k, so if you get anything higher consider yourself lucky.
Most important thing is finding a legitimate buyer with good feedback, be very wary of 0 feedback new users or people with feedback indicating they didnt complete a purchase
Since buyers cant get negs anymore, its hard to tell when you have one who doesnt pay

Really? I can get these in CA for $5-6k at auction all day. Nobody wants them because they are the "outdated" style.
Maybe I should offer a buying service if MBW members want to buy them

Well, I normally agree with your posts, as well as your battle against the dirtballs at Eurotech, but not his time, Companero.
My dad runs a lot here in SD, and I often accompnay him to the California Auto Auction as well as a couple of local ones. Last week? Here's who we lost to: (CAA main, Fri)
2001 S430, 72,000MI - final bid: 11,300 - mouse house
2002 S500, 68,000MI - final bid: 12,700 - MB of San Diego
2001 S500 Sport, 78,000MI - final bid: 11,900 - mouse house
Please let me know where you've seen $5000 2001 S500's: Because I have not. Perhaps in awful condition sitting on thier struts, but not in condition like this guy above.
But normally I agree with your posts.
Chris

Nobody asked for your personal remarks about me.
Stick to the topic of pricing.
9-10k is a good price for a 130k mile car.
if you have a personal problem with me, take it to PM or ask a mod for help

Put it this way, the low trade in on a 2004 in good condition with slightly less miles is near what your current bid price is. I was actually prepared to offload mine @13.5K and it has 125K on the clock but that ust got low enough for me to decide to keep such a great car.
I don't agree with these guys trying to compare a retail salewith wholesale auction lots sales. That's for someone elese or a very desperate seller which you don't seem to be. That's why I would just ignore those prices and anyone who's yaking about auction houses..
Right now I think you are at a good fair price. If you were offered closer to 11K before auction end, you and the buyer would walk away in good shape. That is an EXTREMELY clean and well presented car. I wish you the best of luck with the sale.
Please make sure you have Cash in hand from whomever your buyer is before releasing your car. Scam's have gotten really high tech. I've known "Certified Bank Checks" from US banKs to turn out to be fraud after 15 days... in 15 days you car will have arrived in some foreign country totally untraceable. So please be careful with these people out here. And Don;t trust PAyPAl They Suck when it comes to helping with claims. Their "buyer Protection" in very one sided and only makes sure THEY don't get stuck not necessarily you. Just thought I'd put that out there.....

He is getting far more than auction sales prices with similar miles, so he and the new buyer should be happy with whatever this deal ends at.
On ebay , getting a reputable buyer with good feedback is key. Ive sold a number of cars on ebay , many to foreign buyers who arrange for export. Never a problem if you avoid the cashiers check scams. Get cash in hand or wire transfers and withdraw the funds before releasing the car

Ive seen that same leather damage (line-type scratches on the seat bottom) on many S classes, while others still look new even with 150k+ miles. I wonder if its the rivets on jeans, etc??

$10,000
$10,000 may be a good number, personally not happy with it.
With these cars, I think it is even more important to see what kind of work it has had done on it recently. You may get a deal on some cars and then have to put in for example 3 new struts, etc... and then did you get a deal????
I have been told by a few people, one in particular at the dealership that the local leather shop could make the seat look good as new. The other seats are in very good shape.
