2001 S600
S600 with a headlight problem
I have a 2001 S600 with HID headlights. My drivers side headlight went out so I forked out for a new bulb and still no headlights. I swapped the bulb with a known good one and still no joy. Any suggestions? I was told it could be the igniter (small black box on the assembly) but hope there is another solution because purchasing a $1000 assembly is not my idea of fun.

Okay, update. MB dealer wants to charge me $3000 PER assembly because they say there is no aftermarket installable ballast for my HID headlights.
Is there a way to convert my current HID headlights to xenon that would save me some money instead of spending $6000 at the dealer? Is there an aftermarket ballast they don't want me to know about? Please only give a response if you are certain it is appropriate for a 2001 S600.

thats what i got, headlight + ballast. DEPO is fairly good quality and up to par with bosch..they dont fade and turn that weird greenish yellow color too. i have factory xenon so this is perfect if u dont have xenons - although they do sell it pre-wired for xenons.
