W220 stereo, satnav, dvd replacement
Hi guys, has anyone managed to replace the car radio/stereo unit from one with just a cassette player (audio 10) with one of the latest ones like on ebay? Eg - http://www.car-vision.co.uk/merc-nav...placement.html
Does the in dash display work with it? Phone controls on steering wheel work? I dont have any phone connection at present or any UHI connection in center console either! Dont want to spend £540 on a system thats not compatible! Also is it easy to install? Ive got a good knowledge of electrical and electronics but am worried about the mb comand stuff! At present if i press the telephone button on steering wheel the in dash displays "function not available". Any help and guidance will be greatly appreciated. By the way my model is w220 11/07/2000 S320.

You will find wonderful information at http://www.mercupgrades.com/ on EO MB equipment; however, the one in your link is not MB (though resembles it closely). I can't answer regarding that unit. Its expanded information indicates that it has CANBUS tie-in, so possibly the steering wheel controls and dash display will work. I would query the manufacturer.
