engine life 2005 s500 5 liter

I would like to know how much life I can expect out of a 2005 s500 5 liter engine. Will I get 250,000 miles out of it and how much of a ***** and how costly are they to maintain. any info is greatly apreciated thanks so much please reply. to henrysteeneck@sbcglobal.net thanks Henry

you will get 250k out of the engine easily. The engine itself is bulletproof, but there may be little things that break or need replacing. The suspension has a higher chance of something breaking than on the engine itself.

As long as you get regular oil changes, etc these engines last forever.

But electronics, sensors, etc fail before then. Also suspension needs replacing usually around 100-150k and transmission tends to go out at 150-200k. Thats a $9000 bill at a MB dealer. $3-4000 from independent tranny shop. Best bet is to buy good used tranny
